I got into Wharton with a GMAT of 710 and TOEFL of 106, both well below the school's average. I also received scholarship and fellowship offers from NYU Stern and Michigan Ross. My test scores didn't define my application. What stood out was my unique story: diverse career pivots across functions and markets, a niche in entrepreneurship, design thinking, and EdTech, and a track record of doing things others thought impossible (like publishing two books before ever working in corporate). I leaned into what made me different, not what made me "the same best" as everyone else. That's the biggest mistake I see applicants make: trying to fit into what they think MBA programs want. But admissions committees aren't looking for the "best" candidate. They're looking for a diverse class of unique individuals. Your job isn't to be perfect. It's to be distinctly you. I pursued a dual degree, MBA and Master's in Education, at Penn because I'm genuinely passionate about empowering others. That same passion drives my coaching today. I also know what it feels like to work with big-name consultants who don't remember your story and give generic advice. My approach is different. I offer personalized support and help you uncover and articulate what makes you stand out. About Jennifer
I'm a former Senior Technical PM at Amazon Prime Video based out of NYC and spent 5+ years at Google across Hong Kong and Shanghai. I broke into Technical PM with no engineering background and no US work experience — and went on to land multiple Senior PM and Senior Technical PM offers at top big techs in the U.S. My clients have landed PM roles at companies including Amazon, Google, Meta, Adobe, and eBay. I specialize in helping aspiring PMs — especially those from non-engineering backgrounds and international students — navigate the path I once walked myself. Beyond big tech, I've worked across EdTech, HealthTech (athenahealth), and e-commerce. I hold an MBA from Wharton, a Master's in Education from Penn, and have completed 125+ hours of professional coaching training. Outside of work, I've traveled to all 7 continents, practice pottery weekly, and am a two-time published author — including a Design Thinking book that became a top 30 bestseller on Amazon China. I'm also currently building a startup called Your Story Your Book, helping families preserve their loved ones' life stories.
Why do I coach?
When I was preparing to break into PM, a product manager generously met with me more than three times — over five hours of conversations. He didn't just teach me how to interview. He showed me his actual day-to-day documents, walked me through his roadmaps, shared mistakes he'd made, and explained the real challenges of working with engineering teams. Before those conversations, I was guessing. After, I finally understood what the job really was. That clarity changed everything for my interviews — and my career. When I came to the US for my MBA, I had no network and no US work experience. Then COVID hit. Landing an internship felt almost impossible. What got me through was the generosity of people who helped me — a mentor who coached me weekly, connections who shared their insights, and professionals who showed me how to navigate the US market. I would not be where I am without them. I coach because I want to be that person for someone else. I don't believe I have all the answers — but I can help you organize your thoughts, share what I've learned as data for your own decisions, and walk alongside you as you find your path. Sometimes we just need someone clear-headed to help us see what's already inside us.

Preserving Life Stories Through Comprehensive Biography. ------ Years ago, I discovered a few pages in a book about my grandfather - how he founded a successful bicycle brand in Taiwan. I never knew that story. I wanted to learn more. But he had already passed away. That experience led me to found Your Story Your Book - a biography service helping families preserve their loved ones' life stories before they're lost. We work with professional journalists to turn hours of actual human interviews into beautifully printed biography books. Because every person has a story worth telling.
