Welcome to my profile! As a current second year dental student at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, I bring firsthand experience and insights into the dental school admissions process. I graduated from the University of the Pacific in 3 years with a 4.0 GPA and summa cum laude in my major of Biology and minor of Business Management. My DAT score was in the 99th percentile (26 AA, 25 TS, 26 Biology). I was accepted into Columbia, UOP, and UPenn, and know many students at these schools. I would love to provide my insight and mentorships about the application process and what current students experience at these dental schools. Not only have I helped many of my peers edit their dental and college essays, but I can also provide one-on-one interview advice and practice. My diverse roles, from serving as a Dental Assistant to leading initiatives with organizations like Operation Smile and Dental Shadowers, have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the dental profession. I have a lot of personal experience with dental school admissions and am very qualified to help pre-dental applicants with every step of the process. I received a top score on the DAT in 2024, and can provide students with advice and study strategies for the exam. For interviews, I can offer live practice sessions, a list of questions to prepare, and assistance with formulating responses. Additionally, I will provide templates for letters of intent/interest on request as well as editing services for letters, personal statements, and supplemental application responses. I am also happy to answer any questions about my experience and provide counseling on dental shadowing hours, volunteering, and other application requirements.

I have been mentored by and mentored many students throughout my pre-dental journey. I have helped students study for all sections of the DAT and understand everything needed to apply and be accepted to dental school.

I think one way to develop into a great coach is having completed the pathway before. Having gone through the process of undergraduate preparation for taking the DAT, applying to dental school, interviewing, getting accepted, and then doing well in school to get into an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program. I hope to share this with others!

Rachel Kulchar was born and raised in sunny San Diego. She is a current DDS/PhD student at UCLA and predoctoral fellow with the NIH. Here, she researches how cancer therapies affect the salivary glands. She earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University, majoring in Chemistry with minors in Global Health & Health Policy and Materials Science & Engineering. With over 20 peer-reviewed publications and experience as a journal reviewer, Rachel brings a deep understanding of academic research and the higher education landscape. She has also served on several national boards focused on research and student recruitment in health-related fields. At UCLA, she has taught undergraduate science courses as a teaching assistant and enjoys mentoring students in both academic and pre-professional pathways. As a college consultant with over a year of experience, Rachel is dedicated to helping students find and gain admission to their best-fit schools. She fosters a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, grow with confidence, and aim high.
