Hi, I’m Dr. Alex Piedra — a practicing pediatric dentist, entrepreneur, and dental school admissions coach. I am an undergrad graduate from BYU. I also graduated from the highly sought after University of Utah School of Dentistry and now teach Foundations of Dentistry at Baylor University, where I mentor pre-dental students and guide them toward their goals with clarity and confidence. Beyond academics, I own and operate four successful pediatric dental practices, giving me firsthand insight into both the clinical and business sides of dentistry. Dr. Allen is a practicing general dentist and educator with nearly 40 years of experience in dentistry and dental education. A graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He serves as an assistant professor at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine. He also serves as an admissions committee member, as a reviewer and interviewer. Dr. Allen is deeply involved in helping shape the next generation of dentists through his teaching, admissions leadership, and mentorship. He lectures nationally on practice management and long-term success strategies for new dental school graduates. As an admissions coach, Dr. Allen leverages his mentorship and teaching experience to build meaningful connections with dental applicants. With a strong foundation in both clinical and research settings, I am passionate about guiding aspiring dental professionals through the admissions process. As a Dental Assistant and former intern in various medical environments, I have experience in patient care and the intricacies of medical practice. I know what schools are looking for from working with various admissions officers from different schools and from my own experience in the application process.

I have a lot of personal experience with dental school admissions and am very qualified to help pre-dental applicants with every step of the process. I received a top score on the DAT in 2024, and can provide students with advice and study strategies for the exam. For interviews, I can offer live practice sessions, a list of questions to prepare, and assistance with formulating responses. Additionally, I will provide templates for letters of intent/interest on request as well as editing services for letters, personal statements, and supplemental application responses. I am also happy to answer any questions about my experience and provide counseling on dental shadowing hours, volunteering, and other application requirements.

I went through the dental school application process just 2 years ago and was admitted to 10+ dental schools across the U.S., so I understand firsthand how exciting (and challenging) this journey can be!
