In my capacity as Stanford Law School's Asian Pacific Islander Law Student Association Co-President, I mentored numerous law students in the recruiting and interviewing process. I'm a Stanford Law School grad working in-house in business operations at a startup. I previously advised startups at Goodwin Procter and developed product legal strategy at Microsoft. Before making the leap from law to business, I received summer associate offers from the top technology law firms, including Cooley, Fenwick & West, Gunderson Dettmer, and Wilson Sonsini. I also got offers from more traditional biglaw firms, like Skadden, Latham & Watkins, and Kirkland & Ellis. As a former BigLaw associate who's done a significant amount of callbacks and interviews with multiple offers and helped others land roles in BigLaw, I have a deep understanding of the legal landscape. Prior to moving in-house at a private investment fund (where I currently serve as General Counsel), I spent the first 5-6 years of my career at top law firms like Kirkland & Ellis and Gibson Dunn, where I specialized in complex M&A transactions and corporate governance, particularly in the energy sector. I hold a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Economics from Texas A&M University.

I launched my personal injury law firm in June 2009 with zero clients and have built it into a thriving practice. Over the past 18 years, I have successfully settled more than 400 cases. Unlike attorneys who only focus on legal work, I’ve run every facet of my practice myself — from client acquisition and marketing to accounting, tax preparation, and negotiating settlements with insurance companies. This gives me a unique perspective on what it truly takes to succeed as a solo personal injury lawyer. As a recent Stanford Law School JD graduate and a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, I bring a range of experience in public service legal roles as a law student and new attorney, including with the Department of Justice, private public interest firms, and federal clerkships. My diverse legal background, from clerking to interning with the House Foreign Affairs Committee Legal Counsel, equips me with a deep understanding of the legal field. Like many lawyers, I started down a traditional career path: a judicial clerkship followed by litigation associate positions at a large regional law firm and an Am Law 100 firm in Manhattan. Unlike many lawyers, I made some significant pivots. I left the practice of law and pursued an alternative career path that included a teaching fellowship, work with legal tech/AI companies, and law school career counseling. As an Associate Director of Career Services, I served as the primary advisor to law school alumni, coaching lawyers across law firms, nonprofits, government, and in-house roles at every stage of their career, guiding them on resume preparation, job search strategy, and professional development. Through that work, I found my niche: coaching lawyers. As a first-generation college graduate, law student, and practicing lawyer, I navigated various career processes and transitions, from OCI and switching law firms to shifting to an alternative career path. I am intrinsically motivated to help others, and find it rewarding to use my background, unique career, and industry knowledge to help fellow lawyers build successful careers that are fulfilling and aligned with their strengths and values.
