Having advised those focused on bulge bracket banks as well as boutiques, I have a deep understanding of the different roles in investment banking and have educated many about the best way to demonstrate their value as bankers.

I am a Harvard MBA with Honors and was accepted out of UChicago as a 2+2 admit to HBS. I worked at Morgan Stanley out of college in the analyst program and became a Partner (Managing Director) for many years. I have coached investment banking for over a decade, and while I am new to Leland, I have coached over 1,000 candidates (I call them "coachees") into virtually all of the major investment banks, private equity, and venture capital firms. I coach internships and full time recruiting for undergraduates (from both target and non-target schools!), MBA recruiting, and also lateral candidates - transitioning from investment banking to private equity, for example, and on-cycle recruiting. My focus is on marketing collateral (resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn review), conducting outreach (using handshake and LinkedIn to reach recruiters), coaching behaviorals and technicals, and mock interviewing. The vast majority of my coachees receive offers!

Hi, I'm Ali, a junior at Brown University studying Applied Mathematics–Economics (Mathematical Finance track with a focus on probabilistic modeling) and will be joining Goldman Sachs for Investment Banking this summer. I’ve spent the last two years mentoring students 1-on-1 through resume refinement, technical/behavioral prep, networking strategy, and superday preparation — helping them land offers at firms like Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Jefferies, PWP, and Goldman Sachs. As VP of the Bruno Finance Society, I’ve helped lead campus-wide recruiting initiatives and have personally guided students through every stage of the process. I bring a wealth of experience to help you break into the competitive world of finance. I began my career as an Investment Banking Analyst at J.P. Morgan, focused largely on TMT deals. After banking, I moved to Bain Capital where I worked in tech private equity & growth investing and then Squarepoint Capital, a large hedge fund where I managed a book of software stocks and oversaw our private growth investing efforts. I have since decided to work on my own endeavor, having raised capital and launched a private investment firm focused on down-market acquisitions of B2B businesses.
