Greg's superpower is (1) arriving at a clear vision of the 1-2 things that really differentiate the good from the great, both in career and in life, and (2) pursuing them as efficiently as possible. I think that is a very rare combination and makes him an incredible mentor. I was first introduced to Greg when I was in management consulting and on my way to a bulge bracket Private Equity fund. For the first couple years, Greg mentored me on how to succeed in PE -- the "what matters" in a deal, how to prioritize ideas etc. Somewhere along the way, he pointed out to me my strengths as an investor and why they might be an even better fit in public investing -- something I had not considered prior to his push.
