Working with Luca through Leland was an excellent experience. He was insightful, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping me improve. His feedback was clear and actionable, making complex ideas easier to understand. I felt more confident after our sessions and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking thoughtful, effective guidance

At first session felt helpful but after talking to other coaches with more experience realized the support and value wasn’t that great.

Our session went well, but I thought it was odd she wanted to spend time on discussing the current job market (after I'd already given my background and demonstrated awareness of the same). She basically repeated what I'd mentioned and it ate up more than necessary amount of time on our 30 min call. Of course we didn't get to dive into the actual purposes of the call and I later realized it may be because this was a free call (included in the bootcamp). Overall, my impression is that it was a strategic call meant to entice clients to purchase more time. I'm not a fan of these kinds of tactics, especially as a jobseeker thinking I'm signing up for genuine assistance. This seemingly intentional delay was disappointing enough to not recommend Amanda, despite how knowledgable she seemed and how easy our conversation was.

This was a mixed experience. Matt is a good communicator and responded well to feedback, and has a helpful framework for re-writing resume bullets. I felt that I did most of the heavy lifting when it came to revising my resume and updating my LinkedIn, which was not my expectation going in to the process. It was hard to get really detailed feedback or substantial content edits. It would be helpful to have more contact with coaches up front before committing to this service so that clients know what they're paying for and what to realistically expect.

I haven’t had a ton of luck with resume coaches on The Muse. Something to be aware of is many of the coaches, including Matthew, are “generalists.” The approach he wanted to use for my resume wasn’t one that worked particularly well for my field, Marketing. He is extremely open to feedback, patient and very easy to work with. I just don’t think he had the skill set to be able to help me, a director-level professional in marketing improve my resume. He relied on my knowledge and the way I had originally been communicating my work—which, ultimately, led to a similar resume as an output. While this isn’t related to Matthew specifically, I think it’s important to state: based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend The Muse’s coaching services to any of my contacts. More...
