He broke down my messy story into clear themes and helped me present myself with confidence. With his guidance, I received admits from both Booth and LBS. What I appreciated most is that he never tried to ‘sell me a dream’, he kept it real from start to finish.

I got into my dream school – MIT Sloan. Right now I’m working at our family business, on our company’s IPO on NASDQ and our expansion strategy into the global markets. I was looking for a coach who had worked with applicants similar to my background. I was also looking for someone who could invest her time and attention into my applications. I love how honest Joy is, because it saved both of us time. She is really responsible and very fast, and was on top of everything, which was really important since I tend to procrastinate! She is great at digging into my personal stories. She was able to sit down with me and find some personal stories that I didn’t think were meaningful for my application, but she turned it around to how this could represent my motivation behind all of my career goals and life stories. It was a great experience working with Joy.

I was not very certain about what to do and how it should be done and so I wanted guidance for that. I had a call with Joy, and she really gave me confidence that even though I was a bit anxious and nervous that the deadline was coming, she assured me I could do it. She made feel I was not in this alone. Since I’ve never applied to any master’s program, I wasn’t sure what to write or how to depict my story. And working with Joy helped me feel comfortable that I could do it. I kept telling Joy that she saved me because whenever I was nervous or anxious, or feeling I might not make it, she assured we would make it, on time, and with a great application. She listens a lot, and guides you. She’s very good at storytelling. When we had our first few calls, I told her all about my childhood, how I grew up, college and extracurricular activities, and my current job, and she helped me to choose which stories and how to tell them. I was accepted to Stanford, Yale, and Darden. She then helped me with my scholarship essays, and with my communication with admission strategies. Joy I really thank you!
