About Gun
I’m Gun Vardhan Gupta, a Strategy & Finance professional with over 7+ years of international experience across Western Europe (Germany, France, UK, Poland) and Asia (Singapore, India). My career has taken me through the worlds of investment banking, strategy consulting, corporate venture capital, and investor relations, giving me a unique perspective on how top firms think about talent, performance, and growth. Career Journey: Investor Relations (Adler Group, HomeToGo): Worked closely with global investors, analysts, and advisors on refinancing, asset disposals, and quarterly reporting. Developed board-level materials including earnings decks, financial models, and Q&A scripts for C-suites. Corporate Strategy & CVC (RTL, Citi, PwC): Evaluated investments, supported M&A and market entry projects, and delivered strategic insights to executive leadership teams. Investment Banking (SocGen, Morgan Stanley): Built financial models, valuations, and pitchbooks for live M&A and capital markets transactions. Early Career (P&G, TCS): Gained a foundation in financial planning, digital transformation, and go-to-market strategy. Beyond Corporate Roles: What makes my journey unique is that I navigated much of it without formal mentorship. From securing admissions offers at top MiM programs (including ESCP Business School, ranked among the global top 5 by FT) to landing internships and full-time roles at leading firms, I relied on independent research, resilience, and strategic preparation. That experience shaped my passion for coaching, helping others access the guidance I never had. Today, I combine my global career experience with a strong commitment to ethical and transparent mentorship. Over the years, through GradBrew and other mediums, I’ve mentored 350+ students and young professionals, guiding them through CV building, interviews, case studies, and higher education planning. I see each engagement not just as a coaching session, but as a chance to empower the next generation of talent with clarity, confidence, and the right standards of professionalism.
Why do I coach?
I coach because it gives me a deep sense of purpose to give back ethically. In my early days, I never had a coach or mentor to lean on. Every step of my higher education journey, from researching programs, writing essays, preparing application and visa documents, to finding international internships and landing roles in investment banking and consulting, I figured out entirely on my own, through hours of hard work and persistence. That experience taught me not just the mechanics of applications and recruiting, but also how admissions committees and recruiters really think. I now enjoy sharing those insights with others, in a structured and detailed way, so that my clients don’t have to navigate the process blindly like I once did. Every satisfied client reinforces my confidence and gives me genuine self-satisfaction. Coaching also allows me to grow with every engagement. I learn from each student’s story, their challenges, and achievements, while also staying close to evolving trends in education and careers. At my core, I am also a reformist. I strongly believe in raising the standards of this coaching industry by fighting against “quick fix” consultants and self-proclaimed experts who misguide students. For me, mentorship is about setting the right ethical standards and ensuring transparency, not ghostwriting or shortcuts. And yes, while the passive income from something I enjoy is welcome, the real reward is the combination of impact, ethics, and continuous growth. That is why I proudly call myself a coach and mentor, not just a friend or advisor.

ESCP Business school
Master in Management (MiM), Finance
2018 - 2021
I completed the flagship Master in Management (Grande École) at ESCP Business School, specializing in Finance and Business Strategy. ESCP’s unique multi-campus model allowed me to study in Paris, France, and Berlin, Germany, earning dual degrees — Master in Management – Grande École (France) and MSc in Management (Germany). During my mandatory gap year, I gained international exposure through internships at Société Générale CIB (Germany), Procter & Gamble (Germany), PwC Strategy& (Singapore), and Morgan Stanley (London). Beyond academics, I was actively engaged in leadership and student initiatives. I was elected Board Member of AGORA, ESCP’s student association across six campuses, served as Senior Ambassador for the MiM programme, and founded the BizTech Society to promote technology’s role in business. I also worked as a Consultant at 180 Degrees Consulting and participated as a Core Member of Start@Europe in Brussels, simulating EU parliamentary processes. These experiences complemented ESCP’s global ranking (#4 worldwide per FT) and its legacy as the world’s first business school (est. 1819, triple-crown accredited).
