Simi has helped clients get into these schools:
I've spent the last 16+ years helping ambitious students get into the country's most competitive colleges, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, MIT, UChicago, NYU, and UCLA. Across 300+ college applicants, 95% have been admitted to at least one of their top-choice schools, and over 75% have placed at Top 25 universities. I work best with students who are coachable, motivated, and ready to put in real work - students who arrive with strong but scattered material and need help putting it all together. That's where I add the most value: helping students find a clear narrative across their application, build a school list that's strategic (not aspirational), and write essays that actually sound like them. The goal is applications that feel inevitable instead of cobbled together. I work with students from freshman through junior year, with tailored support depending on where they are in the process: early profile-building and direction in 9th and 10th grade, strategic execution in 11th, and full application support heading into senior year. The earlier we start, the more leverage we have. I graduated from NYU and earned my MBA from Columbia Business School in 2020, which gives me a current, first-hand perspective on what selective US adcoms are actually looking for. My career started in test prep and admissions consulting in Singapore, where I helped expand the company I worked for into Shanghai before returning to New York to found my own practice. I work with both US-based students and international applicants navigating the US system for the first time, particularly the kinds of students who often have the strongest stories but the hardest time articulating them. If you want a structured, strategic partner for your college process, let's talk.

About Simi
I work with students aiming for top outcomes: a 1400+ SAT, a 700+ GMAT, or admission to highly selective colleges and MBA programs. Over 16+ years and 3,000+ students across six continents, I've built a practice around one idea: most students don't need more work, they need the right work, structured the right way. My career started at Prep Zone in Singapore, where I helped expand the company into Shanghai before returning to New York and joining some of the city's top test prep and admissions firms, including Veritas Prep, Bespoke Education, and Advantage Testing. I went on to found my own practice, Global Scholars, where I now work with students across six continents. On the testing side, my students average 200+ point gains on the SAT and 100+ on the GMAT. This is driven by pattern recognition, test strategy, and disciplined execution rather than brute-force practice. On the admissions side, my work is about coherence. Smart students often arrive with strong but scattered pieces: academics, extracurriculars, a story they haven't fully figured out. My job is to help them put it all together: a sharp narrative, a strategic school list, and essays that actually sound like them. 95%+ of my students are admitted to at least one of their top-choice schools, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, MIT, UChicago, NYU, and UCLA. I graduated from NYU and earned my MBA from Columbia Business School, which gives me a current, first-hand perspective on both undergraduate and MBA admissions. If you want a structured, strategic partner, not generic advice, let's talk.
Why do I coach?
Growing up in New York, my father taught me that studying is a craft: structured, intentional, and learnable by anyone willing to commit to the process. That mindset shaped how I learned, how I tested, and how I teach. It's also a skill that pays dividends long after any exam or application is behind you. After graduating from NYU, I moved to Singapore to work for a start-up test prep company, where I fell in love with the work and the impact it had on students. That passion brought me back to New York, where I founded Global Scholars, built a career across education and business, and earned my MBA at Columbia Business School. Sixteen years and 3,000+ students later, I've worked with applicants across six continents - from New York to Sydney, London to Tokyo. What drives me is simple: watching students achieve results beyond what they thought possible, and seeing how that changes their confidence and trajectory long after our work together ends.
