Welcome to my profile! With a background in education from Harvard and political science from Columbia, I bring a unique perspective to LSAT preparation and law school admissions. As an Independent Consultant at JD LSAT & Admissions since 2015, I've successfully coached over 100 clients, helping them achieve their target scores and secure spots at top law schools. Between the actual exams, tryout exams for jobs, and personal diagnostic exams, I have never scored below 99th-percentile on the LSAT, GMAT, nor GRE. I started in the industry in 2002 with Kaplan, and founded my own company in 2005. I was one of Veritas's (acquired by Varsity Tutors as their elite program) first instructors and a go-to instructor for most of their existence, teaching literally coast-to-coast until moving off of their grid in 2017. Career highlights include successfully writing and then teaching my own LSAT course, teaching over a dozen GMAT classes at Booth School of Business at University of Chicago, and tutoring around Silicon Valley at locations such as the Google campus, Stanford, and the San Francisco Financial District. In short, I've taught and tutored thousands of students within the elite model used by Veritas, Manhattan, and others, in which the highest-scoring instructors teach in small classrooms and focus on higher-end analytic aspects of the exam. I wrote my own LSAT course, and I contributed to the highly-regarded Veritas course and books. My students have gone on to attend the best law and business schools in the world. Over the course of 5 years teaching the LSAT, I have honed my ability to break down seemingly complex LSAT concepts into easily digestible components. As someone who did not score particularly high on my first diagnostic, I know how daunting improvement can seem especially when initial improvement is followed by a scoring plateau. Likewise, I have seen and heard firsthand how certain instructors fail to connect with their students when mastery of the LSAT came so naturally to the instructor. Accordingly, I tailor my approach to each student's individual learning style yet still emphasize the same core concepts––understanding argument structure, causal reasoning, conditional reasoning, and the ability to make inferences––which must be mastered in order to achieve improvement.

I scored a 175 on the LSAT, and my intuitive, common-sense approach has been helping students get top scores since 2012. I emphasize comprehension rather than memorization: Instead of just giving you rules and procedures to remember, I help you figure out why they make sense. My LSAT expertise is largely informed by my mathematical background (I have an MSc in math), but I am able to adjust my explanations to any learning style and academic background. Although I tend to focus on logical fundamentals, I can also give you plenty of guidance in more practical test-taking aspects: how to interpret key words in answer choices, how to diagram efficiently, etc. I know my methods work, and I'm sure they can work for you.
