About Jacob
I have provided comprehensive academic consulting for students from the finest private and public schools in New York and beyond since 2002. Prior to founding Nexus, he spent nine years tutoring, developing test-prep materials, and writing training manuals for a top global standardized test-prep agency. I have also served as academic consultant and test design specialist for New Classrooms Innovation Partners, formerly School of One, a non-profit that creates innovative personalized instructional models for schools. My work there focused on the cutting edge of technology-based testing, developing tens of thousands of assessment questions to be administered to middle-school students around the United States.
Why do I coach?
Test preparation requires a combination of dedicated practice, skill mastery, and repetition. Though there is a glut of information in the digital world about these tests, significant improvement can only come with expert guidance. There is no universal approach to test taking; each student has differing needs and requires a unique program for improvement.
