Hi, I’m Nick. I graduated from Columbia University in 2003 with degrees in English and Economics, and I’ve been teaching the GRE since 2005, after scoring in the 99th percentile on the test. I have tutored over 800 students one on one, many of whom have been admitted to the top graduate programs in the US and Europe, and my students routinely improve by over 20 to 40 percentile points.

Having worked as a mentor / coach for the Global Governance Initiative throughout my consulting career and applied to top graduate degrees myself, I understand what it takes to hit your target score. Despite having a very limited quant background, I got a perfect score on my first try on the Verbal Reasoning section (170) and a high enough Quantitative Reasoning score (162) to get me interviews at Yale, Harvard, and Berkeley.

There's no magic formula that makes the GRE easy, but with my techniques, it won't feel too hard. A good GRE tutor should meet students where they are, and I always strive to do this. If you know a concept but struggle to apply it to certain tricky problems, I can help you with that. Alternatively, if you need something explained from the ground up, I can help with that too. I am flexible enough to work within your mental framework, rather than imposing something completely unfamiliar. My goal is to find explanations and methods that work for you, even if they aren’t entirely standard.
