With a 770 score, Andrew knows a thing or two about the GMAT. However, just scoring well on a test doesn't make someone a good instructor. 10 years of test prep experience does. Before moving into grad school testing, Andrew was an in-demand SAT instructor on the Upper East Side of Manhattan at some of the most selective high schools. He has taught the in person, online, and on campuses such as USC, UC San Diego, and CSU Northridge. He loves helping students reach their highest potential and conquer their fears!

Due to my extensive academic background and proven track record. I hold a double major in Statistics and Economics from UC Berkeley, where I excelled in quantitative and analytical coursework. I’m a deferred MBA admit to the Kellogg School of Management and scored a 715 on the GMAT Focus Edition — a 99th percentile result — after just under three months of self-prep. My goal as a coach is to help you optimize your study time, focus on high-yield strategies, and avoid the common pitfalls that waste time and lead to burnout. I’ll walk you through the exact frameworks, mental models, and resources I used to reach my score, and help you tailor your prep plan based on your unique strengths and goals. I didn't like the idea of paying a couple of thousand dollars for a GMAT prep course, so I forged my own path, spent less than $50 on study materials and scored a 740 on the GMAT. I can't guarantee the same thing will happen to you, but I can share what worked for me and offer tips for preparing for the GMAT and for test day itself. My goal is to help you study smarter not harder.

The only way to do well on the GMAT and the GRE is to understand the material and to know how to answer the questions. Cheats and guessing strategies don’t work, and you can’t “beat” or “outsmart” the tests. I am a Certified Teacher who has taught the material that appears on these tests in school. MY APPROACH IS TO TEACH YOU THE CONCEPTS AND SKILLS YOU NEED TO ANSWER THE TEST QUESTIONS CORRECTLY. I scored in the 99th percentile on the GMAT and the SAT, and I have a thorough understanding of the tests. I am a writer, with excellent language skills. As a Certified Teacher, I have 20-plus years’ experience as a teacher, tutor, test prep coach, and business trainer. I am a former teacher of high school math – exactly the math that appears on the tests – and of English grammar and writing. I am a trained and certified teacher. I have a Bachelor of Education degree and Adult Education training. I also have an MBA and have worked on Wall St as a Vice President at a major financial institution, as well as in several other business and management positions.

Between the actual exams, tryout exams for jobs, and personal diagnostic exams, I have never scored below 99th-percentile on the LSAT, GMAT, nor GRE. I started in the industry in 2002 with Kaplan, and founded my own company in 2005. I was one of Veritas's (acquired by Varsity Tutors as their elite program) first instructors and a go-to instructor for most of their existence, teaching literally coast-to-coast until moving off of their grid in 2017. Career highlights include successfully writing and then teaching my own LSAT course, teaching over a dozen GMAT classes at Booth School of Business at University of Chicago, and tutoring around Silicon Valley at locations such as the Google campus, Stanford, and the San Francisco Financial District. In short, I've taught and tutored thousands of students within the elite model used by Veritas, Manhattan, and others, in which the highest-scoring instructors teach in small classrooms and focus on higher-end analytic aspects of the exam. I wrote my own LSAT course, and I contributed to the highly-regarded Veritas course and books. My students have gone on to attend the best law and business schools in the world. Hi there! My name is Avi and I have taught the GMAT/GRE for 18 years. More importantly, I have written actual questions for the test and know the hidden patterns and strategies that I can teach you in order to be successful. For those who have math anxiety and/or test taking anxiety in general, I also address the psychological aspects of the test. My students are typically ones who are targeting the top schools and need a score in the 90th percentile and above. In my years teaching standardized tests, what I have found important is to provide students with a clear and customized syllabus of exactly what they ought to be doing between our private sessions. I do that using my own materials that I have written and developed. This means you will be practicing with realistic GMAT questions that reflect what you will see on the actual exam, NOT random busy work. I also specialize in Math 'Fraidy Cats.
