I enjoy working with Leland as a coach in GMAT, TOEFL, and ESL / Academic & Business English. I bring 25+ years of teaching and coaching experience with international students and working professionals, TEFL certification, and a background in standardized test prep (GMAT, SAT, TOEFL). I’m a Harvard College and Harvard Business School graduate with prior experience in finance, real estate, executive search, and horticulture. Why do I coach?
I love seeing the moment when a student realizes, “I can do this.” Coaching allows me to make learning personal by adapting each session to a client’s goals — whether that’s improving GMAT or TOEFL performance, strengthening academic or professional English, or preparing for the next step in your career. I enjoy helping people find their voice in English and build confidence in writing and speaking, so you leave each session better equipped to succeed in school, work, and life. In sum, I coach because I believe in paying forward what I’ve learned. Over my academic and professional career, I’ve benefited from mentors and have experienced both challenges and successes of my own.
