As someone who navigated the nuances of competitive admissions alone, I understand the frustration of feeling overwhelmed by forum posts, wondering what to make of conflicting information, and puzzling over how generic advice applied to my unique situation. And as someone who has been on the other side reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates, I also understand what stands out (and what doesn't). Welcome to my profile! As a current law student, I'm no stranger to the ups and downs of the admissions process, and I'm here to help you navigate it! I was admitted to several top law schools with full-ride scholarships, and participated in several prestigious pre-law fellowships. I am uniquely equipped to support students with a goal of attending law school directly from undergrad (KJD), because I did so myself! After graduating from Cal Lutheran in just 3 years, I was an SEO Law Fellow before starting at Georgetown, where I am now working with our Corporate and Financial Law Organization, our Entertainment Law Society, and our International Economic Law Society. In addition, I am a student ambassador for our admissions office, and a panelist for our early outreach program.

I am currently attending Stanford Law School, after having received admission to several other T14 law schools and some very generous scholarships. I deferred law school for a year to obtain a Masters at Oxford University on a full scholarship from Columbia University. I have extensive experience in editing application essays and resumes for mentees and friends, and several of these people have gone on to win prestigious fellowships or gain admission at T5 law schools such as Columbia Law School. I am committed and detail-oriented – key components in crafting compelling law school applications. I was admitted to every top law school except Yale (womp womp). I received multiple full tuition scholarships from T-14 schools. As a current J.D. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a Harvard University graduate, I bring a strong academic foundation and a wealth of practical experience to my coaching. I'm a recent Yale Law School graduate with extensive writing and editing experience. I've written briefs in federal appeals, served as an editor for the Yale Law Journal, and authored scholarship that is forthcoming in the Yale Law Journal and the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. Before that, I studied political science at Williams College, where I graduated summa cum laude as one of the top four students in my class. I applied to law school straight through from college, and I was admitted to Yale, Stanford, and Harvard. I'm now completing a one-year fellowship in appellate defense before I begin two federal clerkships. Given my background, I'm particularly interested in helping those interested in public-interest law. Welcome to my profile. I hold a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and bring extensive experience in law school admissions consulting. I am the Founder and Principal Consultant of CW Admissions, drawing on experience guiding more than 100 applicants through the law school admissions process across national admissions consulting organizations and nonprofit initiatives, as well as experience as an application reader at a top-ten law school. My work focuses on application strategy, narrative development, and overall positioning. I help applicants identify their strongest themes, evaluate whether their materials are working at the admissions level, and understand how their applications function as a whole. Beyond initial submissions, I advise clients on post-submission strategy, including waitlist communications, letters of continued interest, and scholarship negotiation. My approach is highly individualized and coach-driven, with an emphasis on judgment, clarity, and thoughtful decision-making in a competitive admissions landscape.

Daniel Khalessi served as President of the Stanford Law Review and is a startup and venture capital lawyer at Sidley Austin LLP in San Francisco. He is passionate about helping others turn their personal experiences into powerful stories and achieve their dreams. Having lost his Dad at a young age, Daniel understands what it is like to overcome challenges. A product of Bay Area public schools, Daniel earned a B.A. from Stanford, M.A. in Global Affairs from Yale, M.A. in Economics (China Studies) from Peking University, and his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served as a Teaching Assistant in constitutional law and earned prizes for outstanding performance. He previously worked as a startup lawyer at Latham & Watkins LLP and as a China analyst at Harvard's Belfer Center.
