I'm a Columbia Law 3L who was admitted to law schools across Canada and the U.S., including the University of Ottawa's dual-degree program straight out of high school, the University of Alberta Faculty of Law at age 19 after just two years of undergrad, and multiple T-14 programs with full-tuition scholarships to two of them. I also successfully negotiated my Columbia Law scholarship up. At Columbia, I'm a Davis Polk Leadership Initiative Fellow and Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect. I help applicants craft personal statements, build cohesive application narratives, prepare for interviews, and develop scholarship negotiation strategies. I've spent years coaching people through high-stakes communication as the founder of TalkMaze and as a competitive debate coach, and law school applications are where all of those skills come together. I'm a Stanford Law School grad working in business operations at an edtech startup. I applied to law school while I was an undergrad studying electrical engineering and was fortunate enough to be admitted to a number of top law schools, including Stanford, Yale, Harvard, and Chicago (where I was offered the Rubenstein scholarship). I'd love to help you with your law school application process, from building an application strategy all the way through the happy (and stressful!) decision of where to attend. If you're coming from a technical background, or you're interested in pursuing a joint degree program, my experience will be especially useful — but I work with all kinds of applicants.

I was accepted to several JD/MBA dual degree programs and have a deep understanding of what top law and business schools are looking for. I am currently a 3L student at University of Pennsylvania Law School. I was accepted off the waitlist in May 2023; before I committed to Penn, I was planning on attending UCLA Law. At Penn, I was awarded the Leader of the Year Award for my pro bono work my 2L year, received my Wharton Certificate in Management, and was a Wharton McNulty Nonprofit Board Fellow with Jounce Partners. I am the Development Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law and led both the Pardon Project and Democracy Law Project (the two largest pro bono projects at Penn). Before law school, I worked for three years -- I was on the 2020 Biden Campaign and then worked in the Administration at the U.S. Department of Health of Human Services in the Secretary's Office. I have mentored four people through the law school waitlist process, drawing on my own experience of being initially waitlisted at Penn. When I applied to law school, I was working long hours and was not a natural test taker, so I focused on leveraging my professional experience and presenting my story in the strongest possible way. That approach earned me admission to UCLA Law (a T14 school) through my personal statement and essays, and later, I was accepted off the waitlists at both Georgetown Law and Penn Law before starting 1L. Since then, I have coached four applicants through the same process, helping them strategically navigate their waitlists. Each of them ultimately secured admission to their top-choice school, along with several others. I hope to continue using my experience to help future applicants maximize their chances of success.

I I bring a nontraditional perspective to law school and business school admissions, having spent nearly eight years in the professional world and over five years living and working abroad in Dubai and across the Middle East before returning to graduate school. I earned both my B.A. and M.A. from Brown University and was accepted into nearly every law school I applied to, as well as multiple JD-MBA programs. I also earned multiple merit scholarships at every school I was accepted to, and successfully navigated the negotiating process to increase my package based on other offers. Alongside my academic and professional journey, I am a three-time Ironman 70.3 finisher and competed at the 2023 World Championships, which reflects my commitment to discipline, resilience, and long-term goal-setting. I am deeply passionate about helping others navigate ambitious transitions while maintaining balance, well-being, and a clear sense of purpose. Whether you are coming from a traditional educational/career path or considering a major pivot, I can help you craft a compelling story, strategically position your experience, and ace the application process with confidence. It is never too late to pursue a JD or MBA (or both), and I am here to help you make it happen!

I want to make it easier and more predictable for others to figure out the strategies needed to get into "elite" institutions like the ones I attended - I had to stumble across these strategies myself, and want to take the guesswork out of the process for others! Most importantly: I'm passionate about helping folks figure out their unique Why - so that they can create a career rocket ship, and craft a compelling narrative for it.

His specialties are top-ranked colleges and elite graduate programs in law, business, public policy, finance, and economics. He has guided clients into schools like Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, UChicago, Upenn, Columbia, Yale, London School of Economics, King's College London, Duke, Cornell, Georgetown, USC, and Johns Hopkins. Brian was personally admitted to multiple Ivy League law schools before choosing to pursue a JD at UC Berkeley. He also holds a master of social science from UCLA. His research interests include Bitcoin, green finance, and civil liberties.
