Welcome to my profile! As an incoming J.D. candidate at Columbia Law School and an alum of Hamilton College with a focus in Government and Sociology, I bring a strong academic foundation and a wealth of practical experience to my coaching. My background includes internships in commercial litigation as well as strategic communications and local government. I have coached aspiring law students at elite liberal arts colleges and MIT, helping them navigate the complexities of law school admissions. Clients I’ve worked with have earned admission to T-14 programs and received significant scholarship awards, including applicants with unconventional paths or imperfect GPAs. Personally, I navigated the process twice (once with the GRE and once with the LSAT) and received multiple T-14 offers and scholarship packages, which gives me firsthand insight into how schools evaluate applicants. While I work with all candidates, I consider my coaching ideal for applicants with nontraditional backgrounds, career pivots, gap years, or imperfect GPA/LSAT profiles. Over the past several years, I’ve coached applicants with every kind of background. This ranges from traditional and non-traditional applications. Prospective students and clients have entered feeling they had imperfect credentials and often left with competitive admissions and scholarship decisions. Beyond my admissions experience, I bring a commercial and legal background that helps applicants articulate their professional maturity, career readiness, and real-world value in ways admissions committees respond to. I don’t just edit essays, in fact I'd suggest I'm not the best coach if tha'ts your main aim. I help you build a strategy that highlights your strengths, neutralizes weaknesses, and presents a cohesive, compelling story. The law school process can feel opaque and inconsistent. My role is to make it clear, structured, and tailored to you, so you’re confident you’re making the strongest possible case at every step.

Welcome to my profile. I hold a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and bring extensive experience in law school admissions consulting. I am the Founder and Principal Consultant of CW Admissions, drawing on experience guiding more than 100 applicants through the law school admissions process across national admissions consulting organizations and nonprofit initiatives, as well as experience as an application reader at a top-ten law school. My work focuses on application strategy, narrative development, and overall positioning. I help applicants identify their strongest themes, evaluate whether their materials are working at the admissions level, and understand how their applications function as a whole. Beyond initial submissions, I advise clients on post-submission strategy, including waitlist communications, letters of continued interest, and scholarship negotiation. My approach is highly individualized and coach-driven, with an emphasis on judgment, clarity, and thoughtful decision-making in a competitive admissions landscape.

I am passionate about helping prospective law students see their strengths and achieve their admissions goals. As a first-generation college graduate with 9 years of law school admissions experience and over 10,000 reviewed applications, I understand the challenges students face throughout the application process. In 2010, I received a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University, Northridge. In 2013, I received a law degree from New York Law School. After law school, I worked as a staff attorney for the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation, where I represented survivors of intimate partner violence before the New York City Family Court and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service. In 2016, I joined LMU Loyola Law School as an Assistant Director of Admissions. In 2023, I joined the UCLA School of Law as the Associate Director of Admissions & Diversity Initiatives. Now, I am a flight attendant for a major US Airline and still review law school applications. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling internationally, dinner parties with friends, and salsa dancing.

During my time at UCLA School of Law, I have earned several honors, including the UCLA Law Faculty Scholarship, the Adam Z. Rice Memorial Scholarship, the Erika J. Glazer Scholarship, the Greenberg Glusker Book Scholarship, the Kingdom Day Parade Scholarship, and the Langston Bar Association Scholarship (awarded twice). I was also selected for the 2024 Foundation for Advocacy, Inclusion & Resources (FAIR) Employee Justice Summer Clerkship and the 2024 Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Scholarship. My activities reflect my leadership and dedication to the legal community. I have served as a Student Liaison for the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Barristers/Young Attorneys, and held various leadership roles in the Black Law Students Association, including 1L Representative and Co-Chair. I have also been involved in the Critical Race Studies Specialization as an Erika Glazer Scholar, worked with the Labor and Economic Justice Clinic, and served as the Langston Bar Association’s Student Liaison and Law Student Outreach Committee Chair. As a member of the National Black Law Journal, I have contributed as both Outreach Editor and Chief Managing Editor. Additionally, I served as the 1L President of the Student Bar Association (SBA) and later as SBA Diversity Officer. My involvement extends to mentoring in the UCLA Law Fellows Program, serving as a Staff Member and Chief Diversity Editor on the UCLA Law Review, and working as a Tour Guide and Student Ambassador for the law school. I also participated in the Workers’ Rights Clinic and the UCLA Trial Team, where we were regional champions in the BLSA Constance Baker Motley Trial Competition. Furthermore, I have been active in the Entertainment Law Association as Events Chair and the Fashion and Beauty Law Association as Secretary of Communications.

With 20+ years of professional experience across law, education, and leadership, I bring both firsthand experience and strategic insight to every stage of the law school journey. I earned my Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and AB from Harvard University, scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT, and was admitted to Harvard and Stanford Law before choosing Columbia—where I secured my Big Law offer as a 1L in Jones Day’s Paris office. As the founder of Nurimas Coaching, I’ve dedicated over 350 hours to supporting aspiring law students—first-gen, nontraditional, and transfer applicants alike—through LSAT preparation, application strategy, and career alignment. My specialty lies in helping candidates craft authentic, imaginative personal statements that reveal how they think and what drives them. Clients have written essays exploring a “third utopia” inspired by Indian science fiction, a Sherlock Holmes–style investigation into the heist of African languages as an introduction to how law can intentionally silence voices, and law as a language of displacement through its procedural rules—stories that marry creativity with intellectual rigor while remaining unmistakably personal. Beyond admissions, I help students study the law effectively, strengthen legal writing, and strategically position themselves for 1L and 2L opportunities. As a current law student at Yale Law, I have supported dozens of my friends in crafting law school applications, as well as building my own! I am ecstatic for the opportunity to support you in building a compelling law application that will make you stand out.

I am currently a 3L student at University of Pennsylvania Law School. I was accepted off the waitlist in May 2023; before I committed to Penn, I was planning on attending UCLA Law. At Penn, I was awarded the Leader of the Year Award for my pro bono work my 2L year, received my Wharton Certificate in Management, and was a Wharton McNulty Nonprofit Board Fellow with Jounce Partners. I am the Development Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law and led both the Pardon Project and Democracy Law Project (the two largest pro bono projects at Penn). Before law school, I worked for three years -- I was on the 2020 Biden Campaign and then worked in the Administration at the U.S. Department of Health of Human Services in the Secretary's Office. I have mentored four people through the law school waitlist process, drawing on my own experience of being initially waitlisted at Penn. When I applied to law school, I was working long hours and was not a natural test taker, so I focused on leveraging my professional experience and presenting my story in the strongest possible way. That approach earned me admission to UCLA Law (a T14 school) through my personal statement and essays, and later, I was accepted off the waitlists at both Georgetown Law and Penn Law before starting 1L. Since then, I have coached four applicants through the same process, helping them strategically navigate their waitlists. Each of them ultimately secured admission to their top-choice school, along with several others. I hope to continue using my experience to help future applicants maximize their chances of success.
