Welcome! I’m an incoming J.D. student at Columbia Law School, Hamilton Fellowship recipient, and experienced admissions coach who helps applicants turn their backgrounds into compelling, coherent law school applications. Your law school application should do more than list accomplishments — it should help admissions committees understand who you are, what drives you, and why you belong. I bring years of experience coaching students through highly competitive admissions processes, including helping applicants gain admission to Ivy League and other top universities. I’ve also been through the law school admissions process myself: in a highly competitive cycle, I was accepted to multiple T14 schools, including two T6 schools, and received named scholarship and half-tuition offers. I can help with personal statements, diversity statements, school-specific essays, résumés, recommendation strategy, school selection, interview prep, and scholarship decision-making. My approach is honest, collaborative, and highly personalized. I’ll help you identify what makes your story powerful, avoid generic essay traps, and build an application that feels both authentic and strategically sharp. As an international applicant myself, I’m also passionate about helping other international students present their backgrounds effectively and navigate the U.S. law school admissions process with confidence. I can speak to law school admissions, as well as the unique challenges of being a JD-PhD applicant. I've coached dozens of students successfully through law school admissions, and I can coach you too!

For years I have helped people navigate the law school admissions process for top tier schools. My approach is about partnering with you to craft the most compelling story, and to help you shine through every facet of the application - from essays, to recommenders, to the interview. In spite of application weaknesses in GPA and test scores, my clients have been accepted to Harvard, Stanford, and other top programs.

Brian brings over ten years of experience in admissions to world-renowned universities in the US and UK. He specializes in admissions strategies for elite graduate programs in law, business, public policy, finance, and economics. He has a decade-long track record of successfully guiding students to T14 law schools, Ivy League universities, Top 20 U.S. universities, and M7 business schools, including institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, Columbia, UPenn, Yale, UChicago, Cornell, Dartmouth, London School of Economics, King's College London, Duke, Georgetown, NYU, UCLA, USC, Notre Dame and Johns Hopkins. Brian was personally admitted to multiple Ivy League law schools before choosing to pursue a JD at UC Berkeley. He also holds a master of social science from UCLA.

I'm a Harvard Law graduate and who has coached applicants admitted to their dream schools, including Harvard Law, Columbia Law, NYU Law, Northwestern Law, and many more. Beyond crafting a strong application, my focus is truly on helping you uncover an authentic and memorable story that still resonates with you decades and jobs later. About me: Since HLS, my own career has taken me from corporate intellectual property law in New York to strategy consulting at Boston Consulting Group, followed by strategic and advisory work spanning education, startups, and other industries. I've navigated much of that path without a built-in network or an obvious roadmap, and I know what it's like to have to figure out not only how to get somewhere, but where you actually want to go. Today, I coach people applying to competitive schools and jobs, changing careers, or exploring entirely new directions. Together, we'll clarify your strengths, values, and longer-term vision, and translate those insights into a strategy and narrative that is compelling to others while still feeling genuinely yours. Clients often tell me that our work leaves them with more than a stronger application: they come away with a clearer understanding of who they are, what they're looking for, and where they might go next. My previous role as Assistant Director of Career Services at Cardozo School of Law equipped me with deep insights into career planning, professional development, and the intricacies of the legal job market. I have advised hundreds and hundreds of law school applicants over an almost twenty year period. I am an expert in law school admissions and have also published a book and a nationwide column about it. Many applicants that I have advised have been admitted to their top choice of law schools. Some of my former students have also received up to full scholarships to law school. I am also an expert on the subject of legal careers, as well as alternative legal careers. In addition I have taught several courses for students planning to apply to law school. I am a graduate of Brown University and Boston College Law School.

Before attending Stanford Law, I studied at Duke University and earned a master’s degree in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford. I now practice law as an associate at Gibson Dunn, giving me perspective on the full trajectory from applying to law school to navigating law school and beginning a legal career.
