With over two decades of experience as an English teacher at a nationally ranked high school in Illinois, I've spent countless hours guiding students through the college application process, particularly in crafting compelling personal essays. As a Premium Consultant with Quad Education Group, I leverage a highly selective approach to help students gain admission to their dream schools, including Ivy League and other elite institutions. I'll be transparent: I was not the high school kid with a 4.0 GPA or a 36 on the ACT. While my grades were strong, they were far from perfect. Because I knew there were students with better academics than me, I mastered the college essay process "to a t." I only applied to BYU (would not recommend), and was delighted to be admitted with a full scholarship! I know what BYU is looking for when they choose which students to admit and which ones to deny. I also know from personal experience how to get admitted in front of a student with more impressive grades and credentials. Let me show you how!

I became an Independent Educational Counselor when I noticed a dearth of college admissions counselors with their own STEM backgrounds and experience. I believe aspiring STEM majors deserve not just a counselor, but a mentor who’s been there and really understands them. I’ve combined my STEM education and career experience with deep knowledge of how to gain admission and succeed in today’s STEM higher education system to provide tailored services that meet the specific needs of STEM students. My Admissions Counseling services help families through the stressful process of applying to STEM college programs. I understand your aspiring STEM major far better than an ordinary counselor could. I serve as a role model and mentor for my students through this formative period, all for the same or less than generic counselors. When applying to college, my goal was to get into an Ivy League school. Throughout high school, I taught myself what I needed to do to achieve this, seeking resources and guidance everywhere I could find. Now, having attended, multiple top universities, I can use my extensive experience to guide others through the challenging but extremely rewarding process. Pitchman and award-winning writer: I have successfully coached 300+ students in the college admissions process, so I understand the nuances of crafting standout applications for admissions committees. Among other things, I help with essay writing (my specialty), school selection, resume and interview preparation, and overall application strategy. I have an MBA, with a marketing concentration. I also have undergrad and grad degrees in writing, including from Northwestern, and I wrote and edited essays and human-interest stories for news outlets for more than 20 years. In addition, I've taught resume writing and interview prep at two junior colleges and helped students there apply to 4-year universities.

With a Bachelor's degree from Wellesley College, where I was actively involved in student organizations and served on the admissions committee, I have a deep understanding of the college admissions process. My professional journey includes strategic roles at Amazon and PwC, where I honed my skills in operations management and digital health strategy.
