Over the past eight years, I’ve coached more than 60 professionals through high-stakes career transitions across law, finance, and private equity. My own path, from a top-10% graduate of Howard University School of Law to M&A attorney at Paul, Weiss and Kirkland & Ellis, and now a middle-market private equity fund while earning my MBA at Wharton, gives me a unique perspective on navigating elite recruiting and ambitious pivots. As a former Career Development Specialist at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, I managed the workflow and delegation of resume reviews, conducted mock interviews, and developed career curriculum and programming for a program of over 1000 students. Additionally, my experience at an executive search firm placing Vice Presidents and C-Suite members gives me the expertise to work with individuals at all stages of their professional journeys. I have worked for over 30 years with hundreds of students and clients seeking to start their career, or to change fields. I work in particular with lawyers seeking to switch fields and careers, and with pre-law students looking to enter the field of law, as well as with law students, and college students in general. I have published two books and many articles on the topic of career change, and finding a job/career. I was an Assistant Dean of a very large multi-campus Pre-law Advising program at a major university for many years. I was also a Director in the Career Services Office of a major law school for several years and have also had my own private career coaching practice. I am also experienced in administering and interpreting several career inventories.

In 2007 I graduated from Duke with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I knew I didn't want to do engineering, so I made my first hard pivot - I landed a job at JPMorgan as an investment banker. 4 years later with a stop in venture banking, I knew it wasn't for me. I knew I wanted to change into something with a faster pace that would allow me to flex my creativity, but didn't know how to convince anyone to hire me without any direct experience. Now with nearly 13 years of marketing experience under my belt, I can say with enthusiasm that I was able to pivot into a career that's right for me. Knowing from first hand experience how soul crushing the wrong job can be, I'm personally invested in helping people get out and onto the right path for themselves.

I have an MBA from Columbia Business School and a diverse career spanning top companies like The Walt Disney Company, Samsung Electronics, Nordstrom, and Accenture. I bring a wealth of experience in global strategy and development.
