I was not very certain about what to do and how it should be done and so I wanted guidance for that. I had a call with Joy, and she really gave me confidence that even though I was a bit anxious and nervous that the deadline was coming, she assured me I could do it. She made feel I was not in this alone. Since I’ve never applied to any master’s program, I wasn’t sure what to write or how to depict my story. And working with Joy helped me feel comfortable that I could do it. I kept telling Joy that she saved me because whenever I was nervous or anxious, or feeling I might not make it, she assured we would make it, on time, and with a great application. She listens a lot, and guides you. She’s very good at storytelling. When we had our first few calls, I told her all about my childhood, how I grew up, college and extracurricular activities, and my current job, and she helped me to choose which stories and how to tell them. I was accepted to Stanford, Yale, and Darden. She then helped me with my scholarship essays, and with my communication with admission strategies. Joy I really thank you! I was honored to work with you.

I worked extensively with Joel while at Stanford and can say that he is a truly gifted coach. You don't need to learn how to "become" like the people you see as successful. You need to understand yourself deeply (including knowing what your unique strengths are), and to learn how to lean into your strengths to unlock your unique leadership style. Joel is talented at asking questions that lead to truly deep introspection, and I came out of our sessions filled with a deeper sense of confidence, purpose, and direction.
