I applied to business school in December 2020. After living through the pandemic for 9 months, I was completely exhausted and overwhelmed -- so much so that I almost postponed my application. Reagan was a huge part of why I got into medical school. Even after working with my school's preprofessional office, Reagan was able to fine tune my application so that I could present my real self to schools. She was able to have honest conversations with me and tell me when I needed to change wordings or approaches to questions and she responded with updates to my drafts quickly. I’m an international student who finished bachelor’s degree with two years of work experience. I was applying for MBA in order to accelerate in my career. However, considering that I did not graduate from a top business school in the U.S., I was lost, confused, and frustrated before I started working with Roy. A few challenges I had were, one, a sub-optimal resume; two, unconfident on getting into top MBA programs, and three, not knowing where to start. When Roy jumped in, he encouraged me and immediately provided me step by step guides on what needs to be done, what to do next, and what to expect. During the process I learned to trust him with all the decisions because he not only asks what but he also asks why. He explored my future with me and provided suggestions that would leave me with most opportunities and adaptability. Which showed me that he cares about me as a person and not just another case to get over with. First, we worked on building a timeline, starting with the ultimate goal of what I’d like to achieve with my life, then we worked backwards. What kind of job would take me there, what MBA would help get me that job, what to do to get in that MBA program, and what can I do now to get closer to my goals. After that, we first worked on my resume to make it stand out. Then, I just followed along his plan and while I’m still in the process of applying, I feel so much better than before I started with him.
