Great coach, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. Had general discussion as well as did multiple mock interviews to help me prep. Provided constructive feedback on how to improve post the session as well.

Dessy is amazing that she gave very tailored feedback to the job. You can tell she is really supporting you to help you do well in the interview, yet gives very candid feedback on how to improve. She is also very approach and it's such a pleasure to work with her

Priya is: (1) a genuine listener and mentor-like friend. Instead of giving instructions on what I should do or what she thinks is good, she listens, learns about me, encourages me to evaluate myself, and stimulates me to raise and solve questions. Rather than just an adviser on job-haunting, she is more of a friend who learns with me and walks me through the learning process of career path exploring. What I learn from her is not only the 'techniques' in job searching, but most importantly the clear way of thinking in examining myself & making plans, and the confidence in going after what I am passionate about. (2) an understanding guide who bridges my transition from the academic to professional field. She empathizes with the difficulties and confusion I am confronted with as a graduate student trying to identify a career path, and is always helpful. She is proficient in education research method (or broadly, many aspects of social science) and career consulting. And she readily digs with me into my fields of interest, whether they are in renewable energy industry or economic development. She gives the most person-specific and context-specific advices. (3) culturally sensitive. She notices and appreciates the problems I encounter in adapting to the new culture. The advices and personal experiences she shares with me are always to the point. She helps me see that moving from one culture to another is a lot more than habit-changing---it can be an exciting experience to explore new environments, fit in quickly, and see my own potential in adaptation.

I first met Priya at our Spring Brandeis Career Fair. She was genuinely interested in getting to know me and my aspirations for a future career. Prior to wishing me good luck, Priya gave me last-minute, useful tips on effective networking and asked to followup. It has been a great pleasure to work with Priya on CV edits, Linkedin profile and dialogue about career-related topics. Priya is very personable, easy to talk to, and is always ready to help – these qualities strengthen her role as a career advisor. I also admire Priya’s attentive listening, effective communication skills, and her ability to support/ accommodate unique needs of each student. I have known Priya, for the last 2 years as her advisee. She has been one of those few people who have been instrumental in shaping, both my career as well as my personality. I still remember, it was her first day at Heller and I was already knocking on her door to talk about my career goals and options. Since then, for last 2 years she has been extremely patient, honest, and sincere in supporting and motivating me to be what I’m today. Even during her busy schedule she would go an extra mile to pull-in few minutes to help me. Through our regular interaction she has made me realize that the patterns of behavior that affected my professional life were the exact same pattern that affected my personal life. When I explored and committed to make the best one, I was given the gift of improving all aspect of my life. From being someone doing the things that I thought I needed to do, in a very hurried, disconnected and driven way, Priya helped me transform into a person that I always knew I was and wanted to be, but just didn’t think I could or should be. She allowed me to figure out how I could combine my interest and education to have a career that I love. Now, I have a great and overwhelming feeling of peace and calm and a strong feeling of I’m where I should be. And having said that I have already started my dream career that is giving me everything that is important to me and I would not have been able to do it without Priya. Her passion for coaching, her dedication, honesty, great listening and communication skills and willingness to help others has been a great asset in shaping my career.
