I had already done some case prep before working with Joanna so I thought I was pretty solid, but she found things to work on that no one else had flagged. She’s very encouraging but also very direct — she will tell you exactly what you need to fix and not sugarcoat it. I really needed that. We did a lot of drill sessions and she pushed me hard but in a way that felt supportive. Ended up getting offers from two MBB firms lol!

I came to Joanna about 6 months before my MBB interviews and honestly I think that was the perfect amount of time. She built a development plan for me in our first session and we just stuck to it. Week by week we covered different things, and she was very honest with me about where I was weak. I’m not naturally a structured thinker so the frameworks piece was really hard for me at first. But she has a way of teaching frameworks that doesn’t feel like memorizing templates, it feels like actually learning how to think.
