I had reached out wanting to better understand the application process, but over the course of the months we met over Zoom calls, he helped me refine application materials, reach out to recommenders, and prepare for the interview—scheduling over five mock interviews with himself and other scholars in his cohort. After navigating and winning both the Truman Scholarship and Gates Cambridge Scholarship, Tristan has since devoted himself to supporting other young people in accessing these incredible opportunities. Through the countless hours he volunteered, Tristan’s dedication and mentorship has helped me win the scholarship, during an incredibly difficult cycle (as they had reduced the usual 35 scholarships for U.S. students to just 26). I am so grateful for him and know that other students stand to benefit greatly from meeting with him as they navigate pre-med in university and postgraduate opportunities.
