As a Gates-Cambridge Scholar and an incoming MD candidate at Columbia University, I bring a strong academic background and a passion for helping others succeed. My specialties lie within the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems (scoring in the 99th percentile), the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior (scoring in the 93rd percentile), and the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems (scoring in the 90th percentile). Over the last five years, I've developed a toolkit to fundamentally change the way many students approach the MCAT. A reasoning test first and foremost, I've built on my foundational teaching skills to help students not only meet their goals, but often exceed them. Going through the premed process can be arduous and anxiety-provoking, and preparing for a high-stakes examination like the MCAT is no exception. I've honed in on skills fostered through years of working as a mentor and teacher with the CURB Peer Mentorship Program, teaching in local K-12 high schools in Ithaca through 21st Century & REACH and conducting in-person and online MCAT tutoring with both Yale and Cornell undergrads. Now, having adapted a course full of materials, strategies, and resources to guide my students, I'm excited to use Leland's platform to share my insights and strategies to the next generation of future physicians. I scored in the 99th percentile in the MCAT, but what sets me apart is my motivation to adapt and invest in the needs of every one of my students. From personalized Anki decks for each AAMC content outline, to unique, integrative protocols to optimize students’ approaches to each MCAT section, I strive to go above and beyond as a resource for my students. The students I’ve worked with over the years, regardless of their starting point and timeline, have gone on to score in the 90th percentile and above on average. As a Stanford University student with a background in biology, I bring a strong foundation in the sciences to my MCAT coaching. On the March 12th, 2022 MCAT, I scored 524/528, a 100th percentile score. I got 132/132 on Critical Analysis and Reasoning (CARS), 132/132 on Biology and Biochemistry (BB), 130/132 on CP (Chemistry and Physics), and 130/132 on Psychology and Sociology (PS). I studied for 6 months using Kaplan books, UWorld, third party full-length exams, and AAMC full-length exams. My AAMC FL average was 523/528. As a tutor for over eight years, I have extensive experience mentoring and teaching students of all ages and levels. Instead of making students memorize formulas and plug-and-chug to get answers, I encourage them to understand the principles and strategies behind each problem. My favorite teaching moment is helping students create their own examples and analogies to achieve that "eureka" moment when everything clicks.

My journey to a 524 was complicated, with many twists and turns in the road as I learned the study strategy that worked best for me. After my own experience, I developed my tutoring strategy so that others might reach (or exceed!) their target score with a plan tailored to their learning preferences and habits. I scored a in the 98th percentile on my first attempt at the MCAT, achieving perfect scores in both CARS and PS. I have extensive experience tutoring these sections in particular, in addition to building personalized study schedules, developing content-review strategies, and coaching students on test-taking mindset and endurance.

Despite my youth, I've amassed nearly 5 years of professional MCAT Instruction and Coaching. As the former Director of MCAT Instruction at Jack Westin, and a current medical student at the University of Toronto, I've supported hundreds of pre-med students with their MCAT preparation. I place a large emphasis on test taking strategy and individualized study plans so that each student can see the most progress in the shortest amount of time.
