Maya’s MCAT Qualifications

Scored a 518 on the MCAT

Maya’s MCAT journey is a testament to persistence, adaptability, and disciplined growth. After taking the exam three times, she experienced the discouragement of scoring lower on her second attempt. But instead of giving up, Maya chose to completely revamp her study strategy. In just six weeks, she achieved a remarkable 13-point score increase: culminating in a total improvement of 17 points from her initial diagnostic. This experience shaped her tutoring philosophy: that with the right mindset, strategy, and support, meaningful progress is always possible. With over seven years of experience tutoring science subjects, Maya brings both depth of knowledge and a passion for teaching to her role as an MCAT tutor. She understands the importance of individualized guidance and meets each student where they are. Whether helping a student overcome plateaus or fine-tuning section-specific strategies, Maya takes pride in crafting personalized study plans that promote confidence and results. One of her most rewarding success stories was helping a student increase their CARS score by five points through targeted practice and mindset coaching. Maya earned her Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Health and Society from Vanderbilt University and later completed a Master of Medical Science at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She has also been accepted to multiple medical schools and will start in the fall of 2026. Her strong academic background, combined with her personal experience overcoming MCAT challenges, allows her to guide students with both empathy and expertise. She is committed to helping each student unlock their full potential and approach the MCAT with confidence.
