I received a 522 on the MCAT (>99th percentile) and am a current medical student at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine. I also worked in research and healthcare consulting, and am the Co-Founder and CEO of an orthopedic device startup. Maya’s MCAT journey is a testament to persistence, adaptability, and disciplined growth. After taking the exam three times, she experienced the discouragement of scoring lower on her second attempt. But instead of giving up, Maya chose to completely revamp her study strategy. In just six weeks, she achieved a remarkable 13-point score increase: culminating in a total improvement of 17 points from her initial diagnostic. On the March 12th, 2022 MCAT, I scored 524/528, a 100th percentile score. I got 132/132 on Critical Analysis and Reasoning (CARS), 132/132 on Biology and Biochemistry (BB), 130/132 on CP (Chemistry and Physics), and 130/132 on Psychology and Sociology (PS). I studied for 6 months using Kaplan books, UWorld, third party full-length exams, and AAMC full-length exams. My AAMC FL average was 523/528. As a tutor for over eight years, I have extensive experience mentoring and teaching students of all ages and levels. Instead of making students memorize formulas and plug-and-chug to get answers, I encourage them to understand the principles and strategies behind each problem. My favorite teaching moment is helping students create their own examples and analogies to achieve that "eureka" moment when everything clicks.

Despite my youth, I've amassed nearly 5 years of professional MCAT Instruction and Coaching. As the former Director of MCAT Instruction at Jack Westin, and a current medical student at the University of Toronto, I've supported hundreds of pre-med students with their MCAT preparation. I place a large emphasis on test taking strategy and individualized study plans so that each student can see the most progress in the shortest amount of time.
