Matt’s Build with AI Qualifications
Experience level: Manager
I build and run AI agents every day. Before moving into research I spent three and a half years as a full-stack engineer, and I have a Master's in Human Factors focused on how people work alongside intelligent systems. At BambooHR I built the AI-enabled research infrastructure for a 100-person product org and co-founded the company's responsible-AI framework, now used across a 1,500-person organization. On the side I ship a live mobile app solo using agentic coding and run a personal multi-agent system that handles recurring work for me. Most of my professional time nowadays is spent helping non-engineers get real value out of AI, so I can explain this in plain language and help you build automations and agents that hold up once you're actually using them.

About Matt
I'm a product researcher and builder based in Salt Lake City. My day job is running research for a 100+ person product organization at BambooHR, where I'm the only researcher on the team. That constraint pushed me to do far more with AI than most people get the chance to. Before research I spent three and a half years as a full-stack engineer, and I have a master's in human factors. That mix is my secret. I talk to engineers, sit with product teams, and study how real users behave, then connect all three. Outside the day job, I build! I've shipped mobile apps solo using agentic coding workflows, run a multi-agent system that handles my own operations, and built an autonomous research pipeline that tests ideas while I sleep. These tools run my actual work, not side experiments. I help other people get to that same place across three areas: automation and agents, AI strategy and transformation, and AI for product development.
Why do I coach?
I want to cut through the hype and the doom and gloom. AI is a tool. A useful one. Most of what people hear sits at one extreme or the other, and neither helps you get anything done. I've spent the last few years finding real value in these systems for my own work: building with agents, standing up an AI research practice from scratch, writing the AI principles my team runs on. I want to do the same for other smart people who know their domain but get buried by how fast this moves. Help them cut through the noise, find what's worth their time, and take a real next step.
