About Laura
Hi! I am excited to start our journey together, as I have a diverse set of skills and experiences to share with you! During my 21 years with McKinsey & Company, I honed my skills in professional development, facilitation, leadership development and adult capability-building. I also earned a Master Coach Certification (MCC) through intense study and on-the-job application of learned coaching techniques with consultants, experts and colleagues alike. I understand what it takes to create inclusive and highly effective teams at all levels, to align business and people strategies. There are numerous strategies and approaches that we can implement together to help you be your best! Let's work together to meet your career goals.
Why do I coach?
I coach because there have been so many leaders who have (and continue to) inspire me. How can your emulate those behaviors while still being authentically you? This is the kind of conversation that excites me! Do you simply need to make some 'tiny tweaks' or do you need to shift how you operate and engage with your team? I once had a manager who I worked closely with. We had a team member move to a new country to train a start-up team, where there were going to be some significant cultural differences. We set up a call to check in, 1 week after they were settled in their new role and rather than ask for a status report on progress my boss said "Is your coat warm enough? Are people being nice to you?". It was an incredibly effective way to start the conversation letting the employee know that their 'big boss' cared about them, and not just the work. She was really invested in them, in their success overall -- not just the end result. It led to a great discussion where we aligned on goals and set up a progress timeline for change.
