About Kyle
I began the first two years of my career as a Business Analyst (McKinsey's term for "Consultant") at McKinsey & Company after graduating with an honors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M. Since leaving McKinsey, I now do strategy for a logistics-tech startup, Airspace, in Southern California. More details on my career are included below! After interning with Boeing and Exxon, both of which were nitty gritty engineering roles, I knew I wanted to seek a career that gave me more influence at an earlier age. Fortunately, I had peers in my network that were familiar with management consulting and who encouraged me to apply to the big three -- McKinsey, Bain, and BCG (MBB). After learning about these career paths, I spent much of my Junior and Senior years of college working to master MBB case interviews, and subsequently teaching my findings to others. While working at McKinsey, and in the year since I've left, I have helped coach 20+ students to receive full-time offers at MBB from different backgrounds, schools, and geographies. While at McKinsey, I received top ratings as a Business Analyst, largely due to the fundamentals I learned from my time preparing for interviews. I worked on 12+ projects spanning a myriad of industries and functions, including an internal rotation where I was tasked with coaching and recruiting top candidates nationwide. One valuable insight I learned from consulting is the fundamental importance of structure and synthesis -- in problem solving and, just as importantly, in communication. These are skills I am very passionate about teaching, and which I guarantee will help you perform to your fullest extent on both the case portion and behavioral portion of the interview. Lastly, I also self-prepped for the GMAT during my senior year of college and scored a 750. Although I no longer have plans to apply to Business School, I am grateful I had the opportunity to exercise my skills on the test. In addition to consulting prep, I'd be happy to provide insights into how I approached the GMAT during my ~6 weeks of studying for the test. I left McKinsey after two years due to an offer I couldn't pass up, but I remain passionate about helping others achieve what I believe is the best start to any career.
