About Kenny

Deep Venture Sourcing & Diligence I bring hands-on experience across the full venture lifecycle. At Google’s VC arms (GV and CapitalG), I spent five years evaluating early-stage teams and supporting late-stage growth investments—building models, competitive landscapes, and IC-ready materials for more than $400M in deployed capital. Today, I source and evaluate Pre-Seed to Series A startups as a Venture Scout & Fellow with South Loop Ventures, focusing on Smart Cities, AI, mobility, and industrial automation. I conduct market mapping, diligence, and technology assessments to identify scalable, high-conviction opportunities. I also invest as part of the Black Angels Group, strengthening my independent deal evaluation and founder support skills, particularly around GTM, fundraising strategy, and financial modeling. I’ve advised dozens of founders and understand precisely what an Investment Committee needs to make a decision.

Why do I coach?

I coach because I know firsthand how difficult it is to break into venture capital without guidance. Early in my career, I was talented and driven, but the industry felt opaque—no clear playbook, no standard interview path, and no obvious way to stand out. What changed everything for me was mentorship. Senior investors took the time to teach me how to think like an IC member, how to build a thesis that actually matters, and how to build relationships that open doors. Their guidance shaped my entire trajectory—from sourcing deals at GV and CapitalG to advising founders and scouting for South Loop Ventures today. I wouldn’t be where I am without those mentors. I coach because I want to give others what was given to me: clarity, strategy, and a real blueprint for breaking into a competitive field. I’ve seen too many capable people get overlooked simply because they don’t understand the unwritten rules of venture capital. Helping them bridge that gap—helping them speak the language, show up with conviction, and build lasting networks—is deeply meaningful to me. Coaching isn’t a side project. It’s a way to make the path into VC more accessible, more structured, and more honest for people who deserve a real shot.
