About Jennifer

I’m a Mexican-American from Houston, Texas. I studied Public Policy at Duke University, then began my career at Cisco Systems, where I focused on digital transformation. I later transitioned to PA Consulting, advising energy and utility companies on complex technology implementations. It was at PA that I discovered my passion for the energy transition, grid reliability, and energy security. Realizing I wanted to specialize in these challenges, I pursued an MBA to deepen my expertise and pivot into a more focused role. After a year of dedication, I enrolled at MIT Sloan, where I concentrated on management strategy and energy. I interned at McKinsey in Houston during my first summer, and I’ll be joining McKinsey’s Boston office this October.

Why do I coach?

The MBA application process is a daunting experience. I remember being overwhelmed and not knowing where to start or what to do. Thankfully, I received help from an MBA coach, friends, and colleagues. I learned that it takes a village to get into a top MBA program, so I want to pay it forward and help others achieve their aspirations!
