Fletcher’s ACT Qualifications

Coaches professionally

Seasoned learning specialist with over 20 years of experience across New York City, New England, and California. As the founder of 1st Principles Learning (formerly myldtutor) and a consultant master tutor with elite NYC firms, I have coached over 150 students through high-stakes college test-prep architectures. My approach is highly concrete: I treat the ACT as an intensive pacing sprint. I design personalized diagnostic workflows that pinpoint where a student's executive functioning under pressure hits a wall—whether it is decoding dense Science passages in 35 minutes or managing decision fatigue during the Math section. By explicitly training pacing architecture and structural exam mechanics to accommodate the individual learner, my clients break through score plateaus, reduce testing anxiety, and build sustainable executive skills that carry directly into selective admissions.

About Fletcher

Moving from Effort to Efficacy: Cognitive Strategy for High-Stakes Transitions I am an interdisciplinary learning specialist with over twenty years of experience guiding elite students and professionals across academic, standardized testing, and complex career transitions. Having run my own private educational consulting practice for over a decade across New York City, New England, California, and internationally, I have intentionally bypassed the transactional, cookie-cutter "test-prep factories." Instead, my work balances the deep human soul of learning with rigorous cognitive architecture. What Sets My Work Apart: High-stakes testing (SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT) is rarely a content problem; it is a pacing, decision fatigue, and psychological consistency problem. While the modern market is flooded with redundant, automated AI apps, I focus on the individual learner. I specialize in identifying exact cognitive patterns, executive-function strengths, and hidden bottlenecks that traditional instruction completely overlooks. I don't teach rote memorization. I design highly customized strategic blueprints that optimize performance under pressure, systematically building the emotional resilience and time-management architecture necessary to remain steady when the clock is ticking. My Ideal Cohort: I work exceptionally well with individuals who are bright, highly capable, and deeply motivated—yet inherently frustrated by automated systems or rigid test metrics that don't fit how their brain naturally processes information. My practice is designed for: - Transitioning Executives & Graduate Applicants: Professionals returning to academics or managing massive career switchers who need to master the GMAT/GRE under extreme time scarcity. - High-Achievers at a Plateau: Students who know the material but hit a score ceiling due to test anxiety, pacing vulnerabilities, or cognitive load. - Neurodivergent Learners: Brilliant minds whose deep intelligence and processing nuances have not always been accurately reflected in standardized, linear outcomes. At my core, I help you reclaim your learning agency—building clarity, unshakeable confidence, and a self-directed mastery that translates far beyond a single exam or task. Spaces for my intensive Summer Cohort are strictly limited to ensure uncompromising, bespoke attention. Reach out directly to schedule a private diagnostic consultation.

Why do I coach?

II coach because I have seen, over twenty years of practice, how deeply capable learners are systematically underestimated by structures that reward rigid conformity over true understanding. Standardized tests and high-stakes transitions frequently create immense psychological friction, leading bright students to plateau due to pacing anxiety and decision fatigue. My goal is to translate raw effort into clear efficacy. I step into the role of a strategic coach to help learners build their own cognitive blueprints, master executive-functioning skills, and condition the mental resilience required to perform at their absolute peak when under high-pressure constraints.
