Evan’s Health & Fitness Qualifications

Experience level: Director

Welcome to my profile! With a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Utah, I bring a strong combination of clinical expertise, evidence based training, and real world coaching experience. As a licensed physical therapist and professor of physical therapy, I’ve spent years studying how the body moves, adapts, and heals, so your program is grounded in biomechanics, physiology, and injury prevention rather than trends or guesswork. I’ve worked with people across the lifespan and a wide range of abilities, which allows me to tailor training safely while still driving meaningful progress. Most importantly, I translate complex science into clear, practical coaching that helps you build strength, resilience, and confidence in a way that is sustainable for the long term.

Dr. Papa's research centers on identifying risk factors for falls in persons with Parkinson's disease (PD). Using a 12-camera motion analysis system, my research seeks to 1) discover the effects of acute muscle fatigue on balance and postural control and 2) identify the effect of manipulative medicine on balance and gait in persons with PD.
