About Emilio
I’m a graduate student at Columbia University researching organizations, artificial intelligence, and trust and deception. My academic journey has been shaped by a deep curiosity about how emerging technologies integrate into organizations and influence the people who interact with them. During my undergraduate years, a mentor encouraged me to take big risks, aim high, and make the most of every opportunity. That advice transformed my trajectory, pushing me to cultivate a strong network of mentors and peers who continue to challenge me to grow. As a career mentor, I worked with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate career exploration, resume tailoring, interview preparation, and graduate school applications. I coach because I believe that the world is your oyster—no dream is too big. I’ve personally experienced the power of setting ambitious goals, working tirelessly toward them, and seeing those efforts pay off. When I shifted my career path and set my sights on top graduate programs, I put in months of focused effort before ultimately receiving acceptances from both Columbia and NYU. That journey reinforced my belief in taking direct action to achieve big dreams. Now, I help others with future planning, career timelines, grad school applications, networking, resumes, and interviews. My coaching is grounded in research-driven advice, up-to-date industry insights, and a strong ability to help clients craft compelling personal narratives. My goal is to help people realize that they are capable of more than they think—and that the first step toward success is simply daring to try.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I know firsthand how transformative the right guidance can be. When I was starting my undergrad, a mentor encouraged me to take big risks, aim high, and make the most of every opportunity. That advice shaped my entire approach to education and career growth—it gave me the confidence to pursue ambitious goals and the resilience to navigate challenges. Since then, I’ve intentionally built a network of mentors and peers who push me to keep striving for more. Now, I want to pay that forward. Coaching, to me, is about providing others with the same kind of support, insight, and encouragement that helped me unlock new opportunities. Whether it’s setting ambitious goals, refining a strategy, or overcoming self-doubt, I believe that the right guidance can make all the difference.
