I spent ten years leading engineering at LinkedIn and Instacart, most recently as Engineering Director at Instacart. I built and led the most core orgs (shopping and growth) at these cutting edge companies, and was promoted five times within 10 years, chaired promotion committees, grew dozens of engineers into strategic leaders, and led AI adoption inside the org. Most of my clients arrive with feedback like "be more strategic," "we need to see more of you at the senior level," "show more executive presence" — and leave with the real read on what's actually being asked at this level, the shift from being seen as a doer to being trusted as a strategic leader, and a leadership style that holds up under pressure without borrowing from someone else's playbook.
