About Barkha
Starting my life in the outskirts of Delhi, India, and leading to pursuing my master's in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School as a 25-year-old, my journey has been trailblazing in many ways. As a first-generation woman entrepreneur in India, I co-founded The Zero Period and dedicated my early career to revolutionizing sexuality education in India. My team at The Zero Period sensitized hundreds of teachers, transforming a select few among them into sexuality educators and local ambassadors for this cause. This was a huge leap of faith at that time, as I left my first job at a corporate consulting firm to pursue my passion for social impact. My fire at every stage of life has been my purpose, which has constantly transformed as different experiences added their colors to my life. My core competencies lie in educational leadership, entrepreneurship, and social-emotional well-being. Why do I coach?
We live in a world that's evolving faster than we're ready for. I coach because I can see the world desperate for people who can hold them through tough challenges or times of change. Having an empathic witness to your journey, both professionally and personally, can drastically increase your resilience and overall well-being. I have personally benefited from exceptional people I've met in my stages of metamorphosis; be it my therapist, my professor, or my coach. They all played a huge role in helping me become who I am today. I simply want to give back the generous gift of skilled support I have been lucky enough to receive.

The Zero Period is a non-profit organization with a vision to ensure every child in India receives accurate & age appropriate comprehensive sexuality education. We aim to achieve this by sensitizing and upskilling existing school teachers to become sexuality educators for Grade 6 students. Milestones so far: - Sensitized close to 600 teachers from 38 schools across Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan to the physical, emotional, social and sexual needs of growing children - Upskilled 17 teachers from 11 selected schools to become sexuality educators in their own middle school classrooms
