Deferred MBA programs like HBS 2+2, Stanford GSB Deferred, and Wharton Advance Access look for future potential, not proven experience. That shift changes everything about how you position yourself - and it's exactly what makes dMBA applicants doubt they belong. I specialize in helping high-potential, early-career applicants discover the leadership trajectory already present in their story, even when it doesn't feel obvious yet. Together, we'll craft applications that show admissions committees you're not just qualified for tomorrow - you're ready to lead today! This is a flexible, hourly package. You purchase a block of coaching hours and we work together on whatever you need most for your deferred MBA applications. You're in the driver's seat! Together, we'll create a customized plan based on your specific needs, timeline, and goals. You get 25 or 35 hours of dedicated 1:1 coaching time to use however you need across your deferred MBA journey. Making coaching accessible: I believe everyone deserves support in pursuing their MBA dreams, regardless of financial background. Here's how I try to make that possible: π° Payment plans: Spread the cost across 2-3 months. Just ask! π Need-based scholarships: I reserve a limited number of discounted spots each cycle for first-generation students, underrepresented applicants, or those facing genuine financial barriers. If cost is preventing you from getting support, send me a message explaining your situation and we'll see what's possible. π₯ Group discounts: Applying with friends? Groups of 2+ receive 10% off. π‘ Start small: Not ready to commit to a full package? Book 1-2 hours to give you immediate value and credits toward a larger package if we continue to work together! Most clients use their hours for: π― STRATEGIC PLANNING & DECISION-MAKING - School selection strategy - Timeline planning and deadline management - Application strategy across multiple schools π ESSAY DEVELOPMENT & NARRATIVE STRATEGY - Deep-dive brainstorming sessions to uncover your leadership trajectory - Essay draft reviews and feedback (as many rounds as your hours allow) - Deferred-specific story development coaching - Application review and polish π RESUME DEVELOPMENT - Resume strategy sessions and overhaul - Multiple rounds of feedback and refinement - Positioning for deferred programs (very different from traditional MBA resumes) πΌ RECOMMENDATION STRATEGY & SUPPORT - Who to ask and how to position each recommender - Creating prep packets and talking points - Reviewing and improving recommendation drafts You can also use hours for: π€ INTERVIEW PREPARATION & CONFIDENCE COACHING - Mock interviews tailored to each school - Behavioral question prep - Confidence building for younger applicants β¨ POST-ADMISSION SUPPORT - Deciding between multiple offers - Planning your pre-MBA years - Scholarship negotiation π¬ ONGOING SUPPORT - Quick check-ins between major milestones - Problem-solving sessions when you're stuck - Accountability and encouragement throughout the process
We start with a "Potential Mapping" session where I ask tough questions to uncover your leadership trajectory, formative experiences, and vision. Most deferred applicants overlook their most compelling storiesβwe'll find them together.
I'll teach you how to make formative experiences, values, and evolving goals compelling when you don't have extensive professional experience yet. This is about articulating potential, not padding a resume.
For every essay, we'll review until they're submission-ready. We don't stop at "good enough", we keep going until you have that "aha moment" where your story clicks and you feel genuinely confident.
Your resume needs to look different than traditional MBA applications. We'll restructure it to emphasize trajectory and potential rather than just listing activities. We'll refine your resume, with strategic positioning of internships, campus leadership, coursework, and early-career roles. From design to bullet points, we'll make sure every line strengthens your candidacy.
We'll determine who to ask when you don't have managers yet: professors, internship supervisors, research advisors, or coaches who can speak to your potential. I'll help you create detailed briefing documents for each recommender that make it easy for them to write compelling letters emphasizing your future leadership.
Coaching delivered via .
What you can expect from me: β¨ 48-72 hour turnaround on all materials (often faster!) β¨ Responsive communication via Leland messaging for quick questions β¨ Dedicated support - I work with a small number of clients each cycle so I can give everyone my full attention β¨ Honest, direct async feedback that makes your application stronger β¨ Unlimited revisions until your essays feel authentically you How to get the most from our partnership: This is a partnership! The more you put in, the more you'll get out. To make our work together as productive as possible: β Hit the deadlines we set together β Respond to my feedback within 3-5 days so we keep momentum (if you go MIA for 2+ weeks, it's hard to get back on track) β Share agenda before our calls & come to sessions prepared with drafts, questions, or topics ready to discuss β Be open to feedback, even when it pushes you outside your comfort zone. That's where the magic happens β Do the reflection work! I'll guide you, but only you can discover your story β Communicate if you're stuck or overwhelmed. 'd rather problem-solve together than have you suffer in silence My commitment to you: When we work together, you're not just getting an admissions consultant, you're getting a coach who genuinely believes you belong in these spaces! β¨ I'll push you to dig deeper and find the story that makes you stand out β¨ I'll support you when imposter syndrome hits (and it will) β¨ I'll be honest with you about what's working and what's not β¨ I'll celebrate with you when you get those interview invites and acceptances This process is hard. Let's make it a little less overwhelming and a lot more empowering. Not happy with our work? Please tell me directly first! I'd rather address concerns and make it right. This package is also protected by Leland's Experience Guarantee for additional peace of mind. IMPORTANT DETAILS: Organization: Shared Google Docs organized by school (essays, resume, recs, etc.) Everything in one place. Communication style: I keep things structured but love inject to warmth to make the process feel less overwhelming. This is stressful enough, so let's make it manageable and even enjoyable :) What "unlimited revisions" means: I'll review as many drafts as it takes until your essays are submission-ready. This assumes you're incorporating feedback and making progress between rounds, not just submitting the same draft repeatedly or asking me to write for you. I'm here to coach you to find your voice, not to ghostwrite. Cancellations/reschedules: Life happens! Just give me 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule. This helps me offer that spot to another client if needed. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice or no-show, that session still counts as used and the session time will be deducted from your time balance (otherwise my calendar fills up and I can't help anyone during that time). Using Your Hours: This package covers ONE deferred admission cycle (e.g., if you're applying Spring 2026 to HBS 2+2, GSB Deferred, etc.). If you don't use them by your last application deadline, they don't roll over, so let's make sure we plan your timeline wisely from the start! If extenuating circumstances happen, let's talk! I'll do my best to accommodate if I have capacity, but I can't guarantee availability for future cycles since I limit my client load intentionally. If I can't shift with you, we'll make the absolute most of our time together for your current timeline. and you'll still have all the frameworks and skills we developed to apply on your own later. Included in this package: Everything listed in "What's Included": essays, resume, recs,, the works. Not included (but available as add-ons): - Scholarship applications outside your MBA apps - Career coaching unrelated to business school - Support for additional schools beyond your package - Post-admission support (course selection, recruiting, etc.) Want to add something? Just ask! we can discuss hourly add-ons if needed.

I currently teach entrepreneurship at Stanford and founded the Education Entrepreneurship Hub (joint program across all 7 schools). I have firsthand admissions experience with 5 out of 7 Stanford schools (everything except Law and Medicine), giving me unique insight into how different programs evaluate candidates. My focus areas span entrepreneurship (MBA, MS&E, and other entrepreneurial degrees), education, policy, and CS - allowing me to guide clients across diverse graduate programs and career transitions. I love working with: π The Entrepreneur Who Thinks They're "Just" Running a Small Business You've built something amazing but don't realize how impressive it actually is. I help translate your startup journey into MBA-speak that makes AdComs sit up and take notice. πΌ The Consultant/Finance Person Who Feels Generic Yes, there are lots of you - but there's only one YOU. I specialize in finding what makes your story different from the other 500 consultants applying to Wharton. π― The High-Achiever Who Downplays Their Impact You accomplished incredible things but describe them like anyone could have done it. I help you own your achievements and communicate them with confidence. π The Career Changer with a Winding Path Multiple industries? Gap years? Drop Out? That "unconventional" background you're worried about? That's often pure gold - we just need to connect the dots strategically. My approach: Think collaborative brainstorming meets strategic positioning. I'm your biggest cheerleader AND your honest feedback partner. We'll dig deep into your experiences, find your authentic voice, and craft applications that feel genuinely like you - just the best, most compelling version. Real Talk: I only work with people who are coachable and willing to put in the work. I'm not going to write your essays for you, but I will help you write essays that feel authentically yours and get results! Recent Wins: MIT Sloan R3 admit (despite test struggles), scholarship funding for a single mom founder, multiple M7 admits for "overrepresented" backgrounds who found their unique angle.
