The system used DeepSeq Coder (a specialised AI model trained primarily on programming code) and the Socratic method (teaching through guided questioning). Running on GPU-powered Jupyter notebooks (interactive computing environments), the system featured a web interface with admin controls, tested while teaching students web development using LAMP stack (Linux operating system, Apache web server, MySQL database, PHP programming language). The implementation used retrieval-augmented generation or RAG (a technique to ground AI responses in specific course materials). The project caught Innovate UK Wales' attention for professional training applications, demonstrating how AI can provide accessible computer science education through 1:1 support.
