About Amit
Hey! My name is Amit, and here's a bit about me "beyond the resume." I love singing and have a background in improvisational jazz. Since graduating college, I picked up an interest in song-writing and have so far released one original on Spotify and directed an accompanying music video. Writing original songs is my way of cataloging my most salient memories and moods. In fact, my tendency towards artistic expression is ultimately what underlies my career strength in communication / storytelling. Aside from music, I also have a deep interest in meditation and spirituality. I've stayed a week in an ashram in India, taken a 3-day vow of silence, and now enjoy practicing meditation and yoga daily. Having personally experienced corporate burnout, these spiritual practices help keep me grounded and emotionally resilient. Finally, I love travel! After my consulting career and a brief Chief-of-Staff stint, I went to go work on the business side of a university in Botswana. My job there was to liaise with development finance institutions like the World Bank and help the university secure a loan. This experience working abroad was what led me to enroll in an international MBA program, where I split my time between France and Singapore. And, of course, I made it a point to travel to adjacent countries while I was there!
Why do I coach?
I've been extremely fortunate to cross paths with mentors at times in my life where, left to my own devices, I would have made some poor decisions for myself. Mentors helped me navigate corporate burnout. Mentors encouraged me to apply to business school and get international exposure. I owe so much of where I am today to my influences, and I would love to be a positive influence for other people as well. Additionally, I believe coaching can be a great way to get to know people and build relationships. I genuinely would welcome keeping in touch with clients after coaching sessions end. It could very well turn out that the clients I coach now become coaches for me down the road!
