Aislinn’s Physician Assistant (PA) Qualifications
Dear Leland Team, I am writing to express my interest in the PA Coach position at Leland and to explain why I believe my background, experience, and passion make me an excellent fit for this role. With a robust background in both academic and clinical settings, I bring a unique combination of skills and expertise that would benefit your students. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Medical Science degree at Butler University and hold multiple academic appointments, including as an adjunct faculty member at prestigious institutions such as Yale University and the Medical University of South Carolina. These roles have allowed me to guide and mentor students, shaping future Physician Assistants by teaching critical courses like clinical problem-solving, emergency medicine, and holistic well-being. In addition to my academic experience, I have over a decade of hands-on clinical practice as a Physician Assistant specializing in emergency medicine at Trident Health Systems. My clinical expertise has provided me with a deep understanding of patient care, acute emergencies, and minor surgical procedures. This practical knowledge allows me to offer students real-world insights and guidance as they prepare for their clinical rotations and future careers. My experience in academic advising and student mentorship further enhances my ability to connect with and support students. I have worked with students at various stages of their education, offering guidance in coursework, clinical rotations, and professional development. Having been nominated for multiple teaching excellence awards, I am committed to fostering student growth and success, which I would bring to my role as a PA Coach at Leland. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to Leland and believe that my extensive teaching, clinical, and mentoring experience would allow me to add significant value to your team. I am passionate about helping future Physician Assistants thrive, and I would be honored to work with Leland’s students to help them achieve their professional goals. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute to the success of your students and Leland.
About Aislinn
With over a decade of experience as a Physician Assistant and faculty member at prestigious institutions like Yale and the Medical University of South Carolina, I am passionate about guiding PA students toward success. My journey into medicine was sparked by growing up in a large family, where my brother’s rare congenital heart condition fueled my interest in healthcare. As a mother and stepmother, I understand the importance of balance and bring a compassionate, realistic approach to coaching. Specializing in academic guidance, wellness coaching, and career development, I help students navigate the challenges of PA school while maintaining their well-being. Whether you're an aspiring PA or already in the field, I provide the mentorship and tools needed to thrive both academically and professionally.
Why do I coach?
Coaching matters to me because I understand the unique challenges PA students face, both academically and personally. Having navigated the rigorous demands of PA school myself, and balancing a busy career with family life, I’m passionate about helping students build resilience and find a healthy work-life balance. I believe that with the right support and guidance, students can not only excel in their studies but also thrive in their careers and personal lives. Coaching gives me the opportunity to empower others to achieve their goals while maintaining their well-being along the way.
