I took the LSAT in August and achieved a score of 179. For the last six months, I have been coaching a client in LSAT prep. Her diagnostic was a 159, but I have coached her up to an average practice test score of 173. In addition to my experience coaching the LSAT, I have worked as a private tutor in a variety of subjects. I have also worked as a teacher in a public school classroom. Thus, my specific experience taking and coaching the LSAT, combined with my general experience teaching, tutoring, and guiding students, makes me a highly qualified LSAT coach.

I'm a 99th-percentile LSAT scorer with a year of experience coaching students to reach their target scores on official LSAT administrations. On average, my students improve about 10 points from when we start working together to when they take the real test. My coaching philosophy is best described as “slow and steady wins the race”: I emphasize deep understanding, consistent practice, and long-term mastery over shortcuts and short-lived gains. Over the course of 5 years teaching the LSAT, I have honed my ability to break down seemingly complex LSAT concepts into easily digestible components. As someone who did not score particularly high on my first diagnostic, I know how daunting improvement can seem especially when initial improvement is followed by a scoring plateau. Likewise, I have seen and heard firsthand how certain instructors fail to connect with their students when mastery of the LSAT came so naturally to the instructor. Accordingly, I tailor my approach to each student's individual learning style yet still emphasize the same core concepts––understanding argument structure, causal reasoning, conditional reasoning, and the ability to make inferences––which must be mastered in order to achieve improvement.

Between the actual exams, tryout exams for jobs, and personal diagnostic exams, I have never scored below 99th-percentile on the LSAT, GMAT, nor GRE. I started in the industry in 2002 with Kaplan, and founded my own company in 2005. I was one of Veritas's (acquired by Varsity Tutors as their elite program) first instructors and a go-to instructor for most of their existence, teaching literally coast-to-coast until moving off of their grid in 2017. Career highlights include successfully writing and then teaching my own LSAT course, teaching over a dozen GMAT classes at Booth School of Business at University of Chicago, and tutoring around Silicon Valley at locations such as the Google campus, Stanford, and the San Francisco Financial District. In short, I've taught and tutored thousands of students within the elite model used by Veritas, Manhattan, and others, in which the highest-scoring instructors teach in small classrooms and focus on higher-end analytic aspects of the exam. I wrote my own LSAT course, and I contributed to the highly-regarded Veritas course and books. My students have gone on to attend the best law and business schools in the world. My official November score was 179 (99.8 percentile). The LSAT is not an impossible exam. The test is unique and has its own rules. But once you learn the rules it becomes much easier to play, and win.
