Welcome to my profile! I am currently pursuing a JD/MBA from The Wharton School (UPenn) and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. With my unique background in both law and business, I bring a comprehensive perspective to help aspiring law students navigate the admissions process. Although I am new to formal/paid coaching, I have consulted with dozens of candidates on the application process. Personally, I was accepted to a majority of the T-14 law schools (including a significant merit-based scholarship at UPenn) and currently hold a 3.9 GPA in the law school classroom. My experiences as a Summer Associate at Latham & Watkins and a Law Clerk at the United States Department of Justice have provided me with insights into the legal profession—I hope to leverage these insights and more to help you craft your story. I aim to provide honest, straightforward advice rooted in direct experience, ensuring you're prepared for the rigorous journey ahead in law education. I am a rising 3L at Duke University School of Law and a Duke undergraduate alum. I scored a 175 on the LSAT and received scholarship offers from 10 law schools, including a full-tuition scholarship to Cornell Law School. I also navigated 30+ competitive undergraduate applications, developing tailored essays for each school and building a strategic extracurricular and internship profile to strengthen my candidacy. Throughout both processes, I became deeply invested in understanding what actually drives admissions and scholarship outcomes—when to apply, how to present a strong application, and how to make strategic decisions that maximize results. I now use that experience to guide students through both college and law school admissions in a thoughtful and effective way. I take a flexible, personalized approach and support students in whatever way they need. My goal is to make sure there are no gaps in support, so you always have clarity, direction, and someone in your corner.

With 20+ years of professional experience across law, education, and leadership, I bring both firsthand experience and strategic insight to every stage of the law school journey. I earned my Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and AB from Harvard University, scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT, and was admitted to Harvard and Stanford Law before choosing Columbia—where I secured my Big Law offer as a 1L in Jones Day’s Paris office. As the founder of Nurimas Coaching, I’ve dedicated over 350 hours to supporting aspiring law students—first-gen, nontraditional, and transfer applicants alike—through LSAT preparation, application strategy, and career alignment. My specialty lies in helping candidates craft authentic, imaginative personal statements that reveal how they think and what drives them. Clients have written essays exploring a “third utopia” inspired by Indian science fiction, a Sherlock Holmes–style investigation into the heist of African languages as an introduction to how law can intentionally silence voices, and law as a language of displacement through its procedural rules—stories that marry creativity with intellectual rigor while remaining unmistakably personal. Beyond admissions, I help students study the law effectively, strengthen legal writing, and strategically position themselves for 1L and 2L opportunities. Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Alexander Walton, and I am currently an incoming JD Candidate at Yale Law School. During my admissions cycle, I earned scholarship offers and multiple T6 Law School admissions. Now, I want to help you get accepted to your dream school. I am currently a 3L student at University of Pennsylvania Law School. I was accepted off the waitlist in May 2023; before I committed to Penn, I was planning on attending UCLA Law. At Penn, I was awarded the Leader of the Year Award for my pro bono work my 2L year, received my Wharton Certificate in Management, and was a Wharton McNulty Nonprofit Board Fellow with Jounce Partners. I am the Development Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law and led both the Pardon Project and Democracy Law Project (the two largest pro bono projects at Penn). Before law school, I worked for three years -- I was on the 2020 Biden Campaign and then worked in the Administration at the U.S. Department of Health of Human Services in the Secretary's Office. I have mentored four people through the law school waitlist process, drawing on my own experience of being initially waitlisted at Penn. When I applied to law school, I was working long hours and was not a natural test taker, so I focused on leveraging my professional experience and presenting my story in the strongest possible way. That approach earned me admission to UCLA Law (a T14 school) through my personal statement and essays, and later, I was accepted off the waitlists at both Georgetown Law and Penn Law before starting 1L. Since then, I have coached four applicants through the same process, helping them strategically navigate their waitlists. Each of them ultimately secured admission to their top-choice school, along with several others. I hope to continue using my experience to help future applicants maximize their chances of success.
