I've known Shamel since 2020 and been close friends since. We worked together at the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Research Journal, where Shamel has shown strong leadership, academic rigor, and dedication to fostering intellectual discourse. He led the efforts of the research journal organization as the Editor in Chief, where he led with impressive initiative and actively created a collaborative space for his peers as well as junior, aspiring editors. Brad proved to be an invaluable tutor and mentor during our three years we worked together. I originally engaged Brad for tutoring in the area of corporate finance and associated skills related to leveraged finance, cash flow modeling and complex capital debt structures. As I was looking to advance my career from predominantly a commercial lending background Brad worked with me conducting a deep dive into my financial career, identifying and repackaging my experience and skill set. This included the complete rewriting of my professional resume, cover letter and most importantly crafting my interview skills, whereby I developed cohesive and highly thought-out presentation plan. With Brad’s support I was successful in securing a position with Citi Bank, working in a Corporate Banking group.
