I am Maurice Ugwonoh, an advertising and marketing communications professional, and a recent student in Albert Chan’s AI in Marketing program at Elvtr. Albert is an inspirational mentor whose profound knowledge of AI, particularly in sales and marketing, sets him apart. Ibrahim was my career coach while I was completing my MBA. Ibrahim distinguished himself by demonstrating a genuine commitment to student success, consistently going beyond the typical duties of his role to support us. Ibrahim personally assisted me in preparing my resume, mediating performance evaluations during my internships and later with salary negotiations for my full-time role. I also had the pleasure of hosting an event with Ibrahim to inform MBA students about career opportunities in Tech. Ibrahim’s dedication has left a lasting impact on many MBA graduates, including myself. His ability to uplift and guide students is a testament to his exceptional skills and character.

Rebecca is an amazing coach. She has a brilliantly structured program that allows you the time and space for reflection and self-discovery. She has an incredibly unique balance of patience and pragmatism that makes her an incredibly discerning and successful career coach. I also feel that she does a great job balancing work done inside and outside of the session, so that you get the most out of your sessions, but it doesn't feel like a large lift outside of the in-person sessions. Rebecca helped me to clearly distill what I enjoyed doing in my current role and what I was looking for in the future of my career as well as put together a plan for how to voice what I needed to ask for of my current employer, or a potential future employer, to make a thoughtful and deliberate move in my career. I genuinely believe Rebecca was made to do this type of work. Having worked with other career coaches in the past, I felt like she heard me and equipped me in a way I have never experienced. Her own corporate experience provides a foundation for her natural gifts of listening, curiosity, and practical application. She is far and away one of the best decisions I've made for my career.

I was lucky enough to have Ibrahim as my relationship advisor throughout my MBA at McMaster. His kind demeanour, positivity, and support made all the difference in my three co-op searches. He knows all of his students on a personal level rather than just what is on their resume, to ultimately better understand their talents and needs. He truly cares about the students at McMaster and this shines through in his excellent guidance equipping us for success.

I recently completed a course taught by Albert and it exceeded all my expectations. Albert is not only knowledgeable and professional, he is also outstanding at delivering information of even the most complex concepts, using up to date information and real life examples. Rebecca was an excellent coach. During our 1:1 sessions she was able to take my high-level career goals (as well as more personal considerations such as fulfillment, location, providing for family, etc.) and help me connect the dots. She provided me with a sense of career clarity that I wouldn't have been able to find on my own. Rebecca helped me learn things about myself and crystalized aspects of my skills, passions, and career that were previously opaque. She provided me with the tools to better explore my skill set and set me on a path to finding the job that would best allow me to do that. Rebecca pushed me to really think about the "why" when exploring my passions and what aspects of my current role were unfulfilling. The enlightening sessions and resulting reflections made my path forward much clearer and more attainable. As a result of our sessions, I pivoted from a law firm to a dream job working in-house at an emerging tech company and teaching 4 classes as an adjunct law professor.
