Xin’s Leadership Coaching Qualifications
Experience level: Vice President
Xin has helped clients get into these companies:
The jump from individual contributor to manager is the hardest transition most people never see coming. You were good at your job — that's why you got promoted. But leadership isn't a reward for individual performance. It's a completely different skill set, and almost nobody teaches it to you before you're already in the role, expected to have figured it out. I made that transition fast — moving from individual contributor roles across Ericsson, McKinsey, and M&A into a VP role leading a global team of 20 before most of my peers had their first direct report. I've also built and assessed leaders across multiple industries, geographies, and cultures, and I know how leadership potential is evaluated at the McKinsey level and inside global corporations — which means I understand what separates the managers who plateau from the ones who keep climbing. I coach first-time managers on the mindset shifts that actually matter: how to build authority without relying on title, how to lead people who are different from you, how to stop doing and start enabling, and how to make yourself visible as leadership material — not just a good manager of a small team. If you've just stepped into your first leadership role — or you're about to — and you want to make that transition deliberately rather than through trial and error, this is where I can help.

About Xin
I spent years in strategy and operations across PE, M&A, and large-scale commercial transformations before breaking into McKinsey, earning the highest scores across every interview dimension. My interviewer called me afterward to say performances like mine were rare. That wasn't luck. It was a system built on first-principles thinking, not tricks. Before consulting, I worked at the intersection of commercial strategy and complex technical programs at a Fortune 500 company, giving me a depth of real business judgment that most coaches simply don't have. I hold dual master's degrees in Finance and IT Management from top European and Asian institutions, and I've lived and worked across multiple continents — so wherever you're applying from, I get the context.
Why do I coach?
Most case coaching teaches you tricks. I teach you how to think. Frameworks are easy to memorize, and interviewers can tell when that's all you've done. The candidates who get offers are the ones who think like consultants before they walk in the door: structuring ambiguity on the fly, pressure testing their own logic, and telling a personal story that actually lands. I specialize in two things most coaches underserve: PEI that feels real and case thinking that transfers to any problem you've never seen before. No canned frameworks. No "tips and tricks" that fall apart the moment an interviewer goes off script. Just structured, first principles reasoning that gets you the offer and serves you on the job. I work with candidates who are serious about leveling up, not looking for shortcuts. Whether you're struggling to make your PEI stories compelling, hitting a wall on case math, or blanking when a case goes somewhere unexpected, I'll help you build the muscle, not just the motions. If you want the coach who'll make you genuinely better, not just more rehearsed, let's talk.
