About Tyler
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, I navigated much of the college admissions process with minimal support. Through hard work, I was able to apply for college, obtain a Fulbright scholarship, and land a role in non-profit. What I felt was missing from this process was a mentor and coach who not only shared similar interests, but also knew where I was coming from. So many smart and talented people come from Nevada, and I want to help individuals explore their intellectual curiosities. I'm open to coaching indviduals from various backgrounds, and can speak most confidently to the undergraduate admissions process, the undergraduate transfer process, applying for prestigious fellowships like Fulbright, and breaking into non-profit. Why do I coach?
I coach because I was fortunate to receive support from friends and loved ones, and I want to give back. Much of my success is due to hard work, but it always felt like I was missing a coach or mentor--someone who looked like, had a similar background as me, and had similar interests as me. I hope to provide that sense of security to other individuals, but am equally happy to engage with individuals of all backgrounds! I'm a certified Public Narrative coach as provided by the Leading Change Network, Inc.
Work Experience

Global Programs Associate
Obama Foundation
October 2022 - Present
I assist in the implementation of a 6-month hybrid values-based leadership development program for emerging changemakers based in the Asia-Pacific region, which encompasses 44 unique nations and territories. Also, I deliver yearly high-impact memos and reports for former President Barack Obama for cohort selection and approval. As part of my work, I build community among a cohort of 35 individuals through weekly sessions, community groups, and coach pairings that discuss topics such as storytelling, building trust, and organizational design.

English Teaching Assistant
Fulbright Association
September 2021 - July 2022
As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, I was one of 150 Americans for the 75th cohort of grantees going to Taiwan. I created lesson plans, presentations, and activities in conjunction with local and national guidelines through TESOL, CLIL, and CBL with two Local English Teachers for 500+ students. I promoted cultural exchange between American and Taiwanese cultures through volunteering at local events.

Compliance and Analytics Intern
Development Finance Corporation
October 2020 - May 2021
As a Compliance and Analytics intern, I monitored and tracked the agreement process of claims to ensure the development and execution of portfolio administration. In addition, I refined and improved proprietary databases through data input and quality control to maintain data integrity. I had the opportunity to transformed complex information into a yearly performance report evaluating critical priorities using Tableau.

Teaching Assistant
Georgetown University
August 2020 - December 2020
As an undergraduate teaching assistant for the Department of Economics, I scheduled weekly office hours and discussions sections for first-year microeconomics students. In addition, I provided administrative support to professor through grading problem sets and exams. In my role, I utilized classroom technologies such as Zoom to create engaging learning atmospheres.

Risk Intern
Aon

Over the course of eight weeks, I worked with Aon's M&A Transactions Solutions line in the Greater New York office (virtually). Working in a team of four (4), I provided strategic support and assistance on a total of 20 transactions and contributed to the writing and editing of due diligence reports. In addition, I calculated the associated health and benefits risks and opportunities of the relevant deals.

Resident Assistant
Georgetown University
August 2019 - May 2021
As an RA, my job is to provide resources to the residents living on my floor. Currently, there are thirty-five (35) residents on my floor and it is my job to act as a resource for them, whether it's directing them to a building or telling them about on-campus organizations. Because I am a transfer student myself, I am the RA for the Transfer Living-Learning Community, which aims to serve all transfer students not only on the floor but also within the broader Georgetown community.
