Package Description:

Embarking on your first audit can feel daunting, but with the right guidance, it can become a seamless and insightful experience. Welcome to the "Prepare For Your First Audit" coaching plan—a tailored program designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to navigate your audit with ease. As a CPA with extensive experience in Big 4 public accounting, technical advisory, and in-house leadership, I've guided numerous startups through the complexities of audit readiness. My background in life sciences and tech startups has honed my skills in tackling intricate GAAP issues, IPO preparation, and audit processes. Whether it's revenue recognition, stock compensation, or lease accounting, I've seen it all and am here to help you avoid common pitfalls. Here's how we'll work together: Audit Fundamentals: We'll start by demystifying the audit process, covering what to expect, key terminology, and the roles of various stakeholders. You'll gain a clear understanding of the audit lifecycle and how to prepare effectively. Technical Accounting Guidance: I'll provide insights into the technical areas that often challenge first-time auditees, such as ASC 606, ASC 718, and other critical standards. Together, we'll ensure your financial statements are accurate and compliant. Process Optimization: We'll streamline your accounting processes, focusing on efficient close timelines and robust internal controls. This will not only prepare you for the audit but also enhance your overall financial operations. Audit Simulation: To build your confidence, we'll conduct a mock audit session, simulating real-world scenarios and auditor interactions. You'll receive feedback and strategies to handle inquiries with poise and precision. Ongoing Support: Throughout the process, I'm here to answer questions, provide feedback, and offer strategic advice. My goal is to empower you to approach your audit with clarity and assurance. By the end of our sessions, you'll be well-prepared to face your first audit, equipped with the skills and knowledge to present your financials confidently. Let's transform this challenge into an opportunity for growth and success. Ready to get started? Let's dive in and make your first audit a triumph.

CPA | Guiding Startups Through Complex Accounting Needs

I'm a CPA with a background that blends Big 4 public accounting, technical advisory, and in-house leadership—so I’ve seen the accounting and finance function from every angle. Most of my experience is in life sciences and tech start-ups, where I’ve helped companies navigate everything from complex GAAP issues to IPO prep and audit readiness. I’ve worked on revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock comp (ASC 718), lease accounting, clinical trial accruals, convertible instruments, and all the other technical areas that tend to trip people up. I’ve also spent a lot of time building out finance processes from the ground up—streamlining close timelines, standing up internal controls, supporting audits, and helping leadership make decisions based on clean, accurate data. Whether it’s working directly with auditors, guiding a team through their first 10-K, or mentoring someone stepping into their first controller role, I really enjoy helping others feel confident in their accounting and finance chops. I’d be a solid coach for anyone navigating complex accounting questions, trying to clean up their books, or getting ready to scale.
