About Taylor
I’m a CPA with deep roots in technical accounting and audit, shaped by years of experience at Deloitte and Riveron, where I advised companies through complex accounting issues, audits, and high-stakes transactions. I’ve worked across industries and growth stages, helping teams interpret GAAP, build defensible positions, and survive deadlines that felt impossible at the time. But here’s the part that matters most to me: I love teaching. Throughout my career, I’ve consistently been the person colleagues came to when something didn’t quite click—whether it was revenue recognition, lease accounting, audit methodology, or just understanding why the rules exist in the first place. I don’t believe accounting has to feel intimidating or opaque. When it’s explained well, it actually makes sense. I work with students at whichever stage they find themselves who want clarity and confidence. That includes: 1. Tutoring and breaking down accounting topics in plain English 2. Helping you decide whether accounting—and paths like the Big 4—are right for you 3. Navigating recruiting, resumes, interviews, and offer decisions 4. CPA exam preparation, study strategy, and accountability My goal is to help you avoid unnecessary stress, wasted time, and self-doubt by giving you honest guidance and practical tools from someone who’s been there. Whether you’re just exploring accounting or trying to level up, I’m here to help you understand the why, not just memorize the what.
Why do I coach?
I bombed Econ 110 as a BYU freshman. It altered the trajectory of my career and shaped my love of mentoring. Here's why: I figured my second semester, I would tone down my classes, get some A's, help that GPA. My dad said absolutely not. We don't give up. He encouraged me to take another high level class and to show I can learn from hard lessons. So I took Accounting 200, worked hard, got the A, went on a church mission. I had clarity! Accounting was my thing. I had a path. Got back from my mission, enrolled in Accounting 310.....bombed the first midterm. I was still in an ok spot because of the curve, but it shook my confidence. I went to Professor Stice's office and explained my insecurities. After assuring me I was still in an ok spot, he offered his help to get me back to where I wanted to be, including attacking the main problem which was adjusting journal entries until I mastered it. His time was and guidance allowed me to do well enough to get into BYUs presitgious accounting program and put me on the path I'm on today. I simply want to pay it forward.
